Scars, we all have them. Some are long and deep, some are short and shallow. Yet no matter what they look like they never go away. Like a tattoo they may fade but are nonetheless permanent. But the question is, how does something fade when it was never there to begin with? All too often we keep things to ourselves. Secrets, things we hope that stay hidden; praying that no one ever finds us out. Truths, things about ourselves and others that need to be told but are never even uttered. Mental scars you could say.
But it's not just normal everyday people, it's the ones who everyone looks up to and adores. People of power, authority, and respect. I can think of two such people right off the top of my head. The first would be our bumbling, yet ever so dimwitted, Galactic President Qwark. At one point he was helping to destroy galaxies instead of trying to keep it safe. That is the part that people seem to forget, fortunately the second person was there to stop him...twice. However under all the fan fare and heroics there was something buried deep in his heart. Something so sad and dark that not even his closest friends would ever find out about it. However that story is far too long and you wouldn't be interested in it...would you?
Well if you are so inclined put something comfortable on, grab a warm drink, get wrapped up in a blanket, and prepare for the story within the story. How someone so brittle and scared on the inside could become such a ferocious warrior.
