you sure? Cancer?" Clipped, polite, with restrained
emotion.
"Yes,
I'm sorry. The tumors have been spreading and he
refused treatment." Detatched and clinical.
"He
never told us." Quivering, tear-filled voice.
"That
was his decision. Again, I'm sorry."
"Was
he in pain?" Sadness covered by strength.
"At
the end, no. He went peacefully."
"Thank
God for that." Heartfelt prayer.
"Xander…"
Quiet sobbing.
