[teaser] black and white
(written with scarlet ravyn)

He listened to the faint rasp of charcoal against paper, creating beauty with broad strokes
of compressed darkness that slid across the paper in sensuous, fluid lines before fading
away into nothingness. Each mark was a word, speaking in ways that no language but art
could capture on paper. The range of colors to be found in the sparse lines of his art was
extraordinary- smoky dove gray to midnight black, and every tint in between, clashing
and blurring and swirling together in an explosion of non-color. It was like the ocean, his
art, full of waves that rolled and crashed and ate away at you until all that remained was
your soul left exposed for all the world to see. One glance and you were left feeling as
though you had known him forever, simply from seeing his art. It was intensely personal
and beautifully erotic, the essence of innocence and sin captured in two dimensions.
Heero Yuy was an artist.
He was young, still in college, and by no means a professional, but he could make people
*feel*, could draw out emotions people never knew they had. It was this that made him
an artist.

It was the middle of spring semester, a month before spring break. Heero adjusted the
straps of his backpack on his shoulders and breathed in deeply, inhaling the fresh scent of
spring. He was tempted to skip class and sit outside sketching in the sunshine, but his
conscience refused him that option. He reluctantly pulled away from the fresh air and
flowers and headed into the main arts building. His only class on Thursdays was figure
drawing, which he had put off taking his freshman year. It was a challenging class, but
Heero Yuy loved challenges.
Today they were going to be doing sketches of student models.
