Title: A Bit of Advice
Author: Bonnia
Rating: K+
Warnings: One swear word, but otherwise none. Wait, SPOILERS for the end of Persona 3/Persona 3 Portable.
Summary: One familiar Fool shows up in Souji's dream to give him some advice before he gets to Inaba. A 300-word drabble I wrote and posted spontaneously.
Disclaimer: Nope, I don't own Persona 4 or Persona 3 Portable, as much as I'd like to. I own a copy of them, or one of them, but not the franchise itself. Or I'd be filthy rich.
Author's Note: I don't know what this is. Is 300 words even classified as a drabble? Well, now it is. This came to me while washing dishes. Originally I was going to make it a oneshot and include all the protagonists of Persona games, but I know nothing about 1 or 2, so you get this. It doesn't make much sense and is very disjointed, but that's because my writing style is very descriptive so I don't work well with only a certain amount of words. Oh well.
And for anyone reading this that is following Finding Home, I'm waiting to post the 1st chapter of that until I finish typing the 2nd, which is almost done. Anyway, please read and review!
He obviously was dreaming, and obviously not on a train.
Instead, Souji was in a giant chamber facing two large doors, with a statue of a chained girl at the top. She was wearing a school uniform and looked peaceful.
"Hi!"
A voice came out of nowhere.
"I think I know why you're here, and I've got some advice."
Souji looked around, but saw no one. He then had an odd notion- what if it was the girl talking? But that was impossible, right?
"Yep! That's me!"
Souji blinked bemusedly.
"Now, what to say... oh, I've got one. Make sure to make a lot of friends and help them out a lot! They'll come to you and just listen and talk to them; it'll make you stronger."
Souji couldn't see himself getting attached to anyone, but didn't say anything. He wasn't sure if he could say anything.
"And, always train a lot, even if you don't think you'll need it. You don't want to be unprepared. And... make sure nobody dies. It kind of tears you apart inside."
The girl was quiet for a moment, then spoke up again, seemingly cheerful. "Oh, Igor's calling you now. Good luck, Fool," she murmured, and the chamber slid away from under Souji. Everything blurred into a swath of blue that slowly made itself clear.
"Ah, welcome to the Velvet Room..."
Souji woke with a start, his head throbbing. He could remember his whole dream clearly, the girl and then the 'Velvet Room', and a journey...
What the hell? He thought and pushed it out of his mind as he arrived.
If only he had known what he would get up to in Inaba, the journey he was starting, he wouldn't have been so okay with forgetting.
