Hi guys! SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 614. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS CONFUSING OR NOT SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW. KK
Inspired by Park Jiyoon's "That Time". I really recommend it, it's absolutely beautiful and the lyrics are heart-wrenching.
It is inevitable—one day they must say goodbye.
One day, for their own selfish—and perhaps not—dreams, they will part. Their love, even if it blossomed during beautiful spring, winter must come. There is no denying, no escaping it. At the first snowfall, reality hits and they know they cannot go on. For the sake of their precious dreams they had each treasured since they were children, they will bid goodbye. She'll cry then—for sure she will. She'll try to forget those moments they shared, whispers of young love, and sweet hellos—but she knows that above all, she'll remember goodbye.
Even if after the flame was rekindled, they'd away. The spark they had would extinguish, they would have been apart from each other for so long that they weren't the kids they used to be. He'll notice the lines around her lips from all the times they had laughed together, and the seemingly permanent set bags underneath her worn eyes from all the nights she spent up thinking about him. He'll know that she knows that in their time apart he's been with other women, but what she doesn't know is that he never loved another like he loved her, and probably never will. But they're too different now, too changed. Gone is the youth and lust for life in her eyes—now she's just tired, worn by the world. And he is too.
One day he'll get sick. The doctors will tell him that he has three months to live, and she'll try not to cry in front of him but she'll fail miserably and she'll spend the next few days crying in his arms while he comforts although it should be the other way around. When he passes, she doesn't know how to live anymore, so she soon passes too.
One day, no matter the circumstance, it is inevitable that they will say goodbye. He was right-no one can escape their fate. His death proved him right.
Ino squats in front of the memorial stone and traces her fingers over his inscribed name. Hyuuga Neji. The day has finally come—the day to say goodbye to the one she could've—did, although she'd never admit it—loved.
But she didn't bother getting to know the Hyuuga boy, because she knew she'd just be hurt in the end.
Even now, she hardly knows him, tears trickle down her face, although she blames it on the nonexistent rain. When she announced to her teammates that she was going to visit the memorial stone (although Konoha's Genius and Head of the Akimichi Clan had come to expect it, as she visited daily) Chouji offered to go with her, but like always she promptly refused him. Shikamaru said nothing, as he understood. She needed time to think alone, time to grieve. Unlike the others, Ino never quite got over the Hyuuga Prodigy's death.
It would seem stupid for those who didn't know the Yamanaka Head Interrogator, after all she rarely spoke to the Hyuuga and they were seemingly never more than comrades, however that was simply because Ino never attempted to get close to Neji.
Because it is common knowledge that everything that begins as "hello", will one day end with "goodbye".
Confusing? Let me know!
