I lived in a world of pain. I was a demon, a satanistic character that not even Stephen King could describe. I was a monster. I'd been the reason that she died that day, in that very place where I told myself I would never bring her, but I had..and things had turned out to be the worst case scenario.
Her name was Bella Swan. She was just a local Fork's student, smart, beautiful, and loving. Of course, that description sounds like your typical teenage girl..but she wasn't, not in the simplest of ways. Bella knew about me. Bella knew I was a monster, but I assume there was a factor of danger, the exact factor of danger that drove her to me. It had always been a problem for me, I knew that if I didn't let her go something like that would happen..but in vain I wouldn't let her go. Even if I tried, I knew she could never leave me..it just wasn't that simple. Immortality had its highs, but I could never find them. I guess you could say my life was always dull, but that changed right after I met her. She made me feel alive.
I wasn't created for happiness, nor to make people happy. I was just simply, a dead man with no soul who could walk. A freak of nature. I ignored this harsh reality in order to pursue my life with Bella..her fate could have been different If I had just listened to Rosalie. Bella was dead, she'd been dead for a year now. I don't like thinking about how she did it..or why..but sometimes It was better to embrace reality.
Victoria, a vicious vampire had began to create terror after my family and I killed her mate, James. She figured the best revenge would be to kill my mate as well. She'd made it a difficult chase, but after months of waiting..she'd decided to attack. Of course, she went right for me, considering I was the only one protecting Bella at that time. She had began trying to injure me by decapitating me, but Bella had a plan to get Victoria off of my weak body. She had taken Victoria's Swiss army knife that had fallen out of her jacket and stabbed her stomache repeatedly. She stared at Victoria, who lept off of me imediately. Victoria began walking towards her, Bella's eyes focused on hers. Of course, Jasper and Emmet attacked her by suprise, killing her.
Bella fell to the ground, her blood loss was becoming more and more rapid, she winced again and again in pain..Carlisle was a mile away, but I knew if he sensed the blood he'd come right away. "I'm going to get you help I promise." Bella stroked my hair. "I love you.." she continued, "I did this for you, my love..you must promise me something Edward." I shook my head. "Now is not the time for goodbyes, Bella you're not dying!" I didn't want to embrace the truth of the matter. "Promise me you'll stay far..far away from the Volturi..You won't even think of it." "Bel.." "Promise me." I stared into her eye's which were beggining to shut. "I promise." She'd lost her pulse..and her life..saving me.
