IDONTOWNGRAVITYFALLS or OVERTHEGARDENWALL

'Led through the mist by the milk light of moon, all that was lost is revealed.'
I wondered through the desolate streets of my former home, dredging dust with each lead filled footstep. Swiping my hand along the ruins of the town, a tear slips down my face in all memory of what it had become.

'Our long bygone burdens, mere echoes of the spring.'
I cough, the darkened sky seeming to draw all hope, life from every edge of the world. I sigh, how do I find the will to continue? This is the one question that I cannot seem to find the answer to. What if I lack the will? What happens then? I daren't answer that either.

'But where have we come? And where shall we end?'
I sigh once more, turning my face to the star filled sky, the twinkling lights swallowed by the deepening darkness. Was this worth it? Who knows? For me, however, it wasn't. So much was lost and little gained. But really, would we have stopped it even if we knew the outcome?

'If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?'
I close my eyes, shutting me from the haunting of reality and when I once again open them, it's to a very different world. A tugging on my arms pulls me from my thought. Her metal smile is contagious and soon I find myself smiling too. She pulls me away from that blackened place and spins me around, laughing, singing, the most beautiful sound in the world to my ears.

'Oh, how the gentle wind beckons through the leaves,'
The light breeze on our skin pleasant as we lay there is the late summer grass. In this place it is just my sister and me, our own place to own, to make our own. We share stories and I can't help but giggle when I notice that with her hair splayed out around her like that she looks like a flower. I point out as such and she laughs along. Soon we cannot breathe, for the laughter and we are eventually left wheezing on the ground, tears of joy spilling down our rosy cheeks and all thoughts of sadness and darkness dispelled.

'As autumn colours fall'
The golden trees, however, remind me that we don't have much time left now. Soon autumn will be upon us and our home; well our home will be left behind, our family alike. Soon we will be returning to our old lives. I'm not quite sure if it's a bad thing, honestly. It's only that it feels wrong to leave memories like these sacred few.

'Dancing in a swirl of golden memories'
Eventide soon falls and we lay there still, in silent companionship we share the space, watching as the fireflies fly amongst the stars, wondering if they are in fact stars fallen from the sky. The bright moon illuminating the clearing and we simply lay there, no unspoken words, all understood.

'The loveliest lies of all'
My eyes slide shut, slipping off into peaceful, dreamless sleep, there beside my sibling. But when I wake, it's to a pile of dirt where she now resides and a slab of stone marking her name.
