Rating: FRK
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters or situations that are familiar to you.
Spoilers: Season 1 and 2, I guess.
Summary: Kensi and Deeks share a conversation. Vague season 3 spoilers.

Sort of based off vague season 3 spoilers given by Brennan that say 'Kensi and Deeks talk about relationships'. To see the interview, go to www youtube com/ watch?v=FMRUU36OlP8 without the spaces.

I couldn't think of a setting or actions, so it's just dialogue.

"You said you and Hetty had a heart-to-heart? What you talk about?"

"What did you talk about?"

"I asked first."

"I asked second."

"Ladies first."

"Age before beauty."

"You'd still be going first."

"You saying I'm unattractive, Deeks?"

"I'm saying I'm a stud... and you're stalling."

"Maybe I don't want to talk about it."

"It's about me, isn't it?"

"You think the whole world revolves around you, don't you?"

"Only yours. Face it, if Hetty were twenty years younger, you two would have a knock-down-drag-out over me."

"You're so full of yourself."

"Maybe, but you're still stalling."

.

.

.

"Fine. We...talked about... the future."

"Oh, could you be any more vague?"

"That's all I'm saying-"

"I knew it was about me..."

"Ugh! It was about me, actually... I think."

"You think...?"

"I think it started out as Hetty's regrets and missed opportunities... and somehow we got talking about me... and the future."

"Future as in 'I need a box of Twinkies' or future as in 'I'd like to be buried with my collection of jelly bracelets'?"

"Ugh... about... when something's going to mean more to me than the job."

"Ooohh... that future."

"Yeah."

"And...?"

"And what?"

"The thing about Hetty is she always says something that makes you think. You thought about it, didn't you?"

"A little."

"And...?"

"I dunno. I am the job. Everything I do from sun up to sun down relates to the job. Could I give it all up?"

"There are some agents with spouses and kids."

"Very few."

"Sam has kids..."

"Sam can't get pregnant."

"Wouldn't that be funny to see?"

"My God..."

"I know."

.

.

.

"You know, Hetty never gave up the gun and badge. Nothing says you have to, too..."

"I know... but maybe, I do want to, sometime... do I? Can I gave this up? Do I want to?"

.

.

.

"Don't they say that if you find the right one, then it's not that difficult to make the decision?

"Guess so.

.

.

.

"Alright, what you two talk about?"

"…"

"Come on, Deeks. Spill. I said mine..."

"She wanted me to resign from LAPD and become and an Agent."

"Really?"

"Does that smile mean I have your approval?"

"Yeah. I mean... I've spent the past year training you..."

"Oh please, I've been doing this long before you were even out of the academy."

"You need your walker and cane soon, Deeks?"

"Ha ha."

"Well? What did you say? Are you now Probationary Agent Deeks?"

"I..."

"You said 'No'?"

"More of a 'Not right now'."

"..."

"Just like you said you are the job, so am I. LAPD is who I am. I'm honoured... but being a cop is all I know and I'm just not ready to give that up yet..."

"But you wouldn't mind the promotion?"

"I... think I could get used to being an Agent."

"Good, I really don't have any desire to train another newb. It was hard enough training you."

"Face it. You just want to see 'all this' every day."

"If by 'all this' you mean 'none of it', then absolutely."

"You're cruel."

"Thank you."

Author's Note: Yes Deeks, Kensi and Hetty's conversation was undoubtedly about you ;)
