Authors Note: First time with a Frozen fic, hope I did OK. Alternate, if slightly-more realistic, retelling of the end of Frozen.
Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Frozen. It belongs to its respective owner, Disney.

Forever Heart
Anna was too late.
Elsa; on the ground, heartbroken sobs that rattled her suddenly frail and small frame and wishing for the end that would soon come. Hans; bearing down on Elsa, a sword poised and ready to strike down her sister, his once handsome features twisted into something Anna couldn't recognise. Kristoff; her True Love, running towards Anna to give her the Kiss that would thaw her frozen heart and save her life. Anna stared longingly at the ice harvester and she wanted to run to him, to have him wrap his arms around her and give her True Loves kiss.
But her sister needed her.
So Anna turned her back on her only chance at thawing her heart and she ran to Elsa, the one that needed her most.
Hans' sword began to descend upon the back of Anna's despairing sister and Anna threw herself in front of Elsa, a hand outstretched and a cry on her lips. Time didn't slow down for the youngest princess of Arendelle as her heart froze inside her body. The ice inside of her heart spread outwards and Anna was left as nothing more than an ice statue.
Anna was too late; her heart had remained unthawed and now, so would she.
So cold was the statue of the frozen princess that Hans' sword shattered as it came in contact with the ice of Anna's forever outstretched hand. The force knocked Hans backward.
Anna's last breath passed through her frozen body, content that she had saved her beloved sister even though it meant her death.
Elsa soon noticed her sister, forever frozen in the act of protecting her. Shaking hands reached out to gently cup her sister's cheeks, the first time she had truly touched her sister in thirteen years. Her heart broke once again as Hans' words replayed themselves in her head and she threw herself at the sister she had only ever tried to protect as tears flowed down her cheeks.
The world blurred out of focus and the only thing that was real was the smooth, blue ice she had wrapped in her hands. Elsa, alone, remained unbothered by the burning touch of the cold ice that was her sister. But now, she wished more than anything that the ice would burn her, make her feel cold because she did this to her Anna.
Monster, her mind hissed at her. Monster…
Elsa could hear herself muttering apologies to her sister, over and over again, as if her sister could hear them.
It is at this part of the story where Anna is unthawed by the True Love she and her sister feel for each other. But Anna was too late and she was never to be thawed. As the years continued on, Elsa moved to her sister to her castle at the North Mountain where every day, Elsa continued to mourn for the sister that she loved more than anything.
For the dead cannot be brought back to life, not even by True Love.

Authors Note: Well, there you have it. It's short, I know, but hopefully it's heartbreaking *Fingers crossed* I hope it makes sense… I was kinda up late writing this.
Hope you enjoyed!
