For Klaine week.
One year, new morning.
Kurt felt warm.
It wasn't that kind of warm where it was too hot. It was the kind of warm that made him feel safe, protected. Even loved.
One year ago that was not something Kurt Hummel usually felt.
He had felt cold, unsafe and lonely.
But a lot had changed in a year. Instead of waking up alone, like he normally would on a Thursday morning, a pair of strong arms was wrapped around him and the weight of a body rested behind him.
- "Happy anniversary" said a voice softly.
Kurt smiled and turned over to see his boyfriend tucked closely behind him in the bed.
"Happy anniversary" Kurt murmured sleepily, and then "what are you doing here?"
"I'm waking up my beautiful boyfriend on our one year anniversary of course."
"Of course." Kurt settled more comfortably in Blaine's arms and closed his eyes a little longer, wanting the peaceful morning and relaxation of sleep to last a bit longer.
Not more than a minute or so later he frowned slightly and opened his eyes again.
"Wait, who let you in? The clock must be like,..-"
"Six thirty." His boyfriend answered for him and continued "and your Dad did. We made an arrangement."
Kurt wiggled his eyebrows, "Oh, an arrangement?"
Blaine smiled a little and shrugged shortly. "It was more of a short text last night. I figured I wanted to spend as much time with my handsome boyfriend as humanly possible. Hope you don't mind."
"I don't mind at all, I actually think it's an excellent idea."
"Do you now?" Blaine grinned. They smiled together.
"So much." Kurt answered.
Blaine leaned over carefully, just like when he had sneak under the covers to surprise Kurt, but this time he firmly kissed Kurt on the lips. They both smiled as the kiss lingered longer than necessary.
They parted, their eyes were locked together. Blaine laid a hand lovingly on Kurt's cheek and spoke with adoration.
"I love you so much."
And Kurt answered.
"I love you too."
They both lay a little longer pressed together, breathing slowly, eyes closed.
"We should get up, it's a school day." Blaine said and slightly nudged Kurt with his shoulder, as if trying to wake him up one more time.
"I know." Kurt didn't open his eyes. He didn't make any move to get up, but neither did Blaine.
"I'm planning on making you breakfast." Blaine said suddenly. He opened his eyes again.
"Pfft, no you're not." Kurt giggled and reopened his eyes too.
"Sure I am!" Blaine grinned.
Kurt shoved his boyfriend playfully and sat up. He turned left, away from Blaine, so he could fix his hair in the mirror.
- "No you're not. I'm going to make breakfast. I actually planned to bring a special made lunch for us to school, but since you're already here I guess I'll do both."
"Okay." Blaine said happily, still settled on the pillows. He was leaning on this elbow, his front towards Kurt. Kurt turned back and looked at him.
"You actually hoped I would say something like what didn't you?"
"Hey, we both know who's the better cook, I'm not gonna complain if you want to make breakfast!" Blaine grinned.
"I bet you aren't." Kurt grinned back.
"Not on our anniversary." Blaine said and finally raised himself up in sitting position. Kurt stared at him for a long time before he almost in a whisper said. "It's our anniversary." A new sort of smile grew on his lips.
"It is." Blaine said and leaned over to his boyfriend so their foreheads touched.
"One year." Kurt said.
"One year." Blaine repeated.
"Happy anniversary Blaine."
"Happy anniversary Kurt."
They settled for another kiss, slow and loving.
As they pulled apart they smiled again. They wouldn't stop anytime soon.
