It was his fault she was lying on the floor, bleeding. It was his fault she even came along. Yet she's smiling as she dies, and whispers, "No regrets." Before kissing him once more, and silently takes her last breath. Courtney / Duncan. OneShot.

No Regrets

"Come on, Princess!" he persuaded, grabbing her around the waist.

But she stubbornly crossed her arms, and looked the other way, ignoring him.

"It'll be fun!" he bargained.

She stared at him in disbelief. "Fun?" she spat. "How is hanging out with a gang in an alley fun?"

He smirked. "Because it is."

"No, it's dangerous," she said, rolling her eyes.

"No it's not. I've done it plenty of times. It's not dangerous. It's just a party anyway," he said.

"I. Don't. Care. I'm not going," she said, breaking free of his grasp and walking to the corner of the room, arms crossed.

But that only made him want to take her even more. "Come on. I want to flaunt my girlfriend in front of everyone."

She scoffed.

"I don't care what you say Princess, you're going," he said, grabbing her jacket, then her as they walked out the door.

This is not good... she sighed.

-

I can't believe it... but this is actually fun. she thought to herself, smiling at Duncan as he bragged. She usually wasn't this carefree... maybe the drink was spiked. Oh, this is a gang party! Of course it's spiked!

They were having too much fun to see how another gang - a rival gang - entered the party, guns loaded, hidden behind their coats. Suddenly, the air was filled with bright lights and louds booms. In all the commotion, Duncan lost track of Courtney.

As soon as the rival gang left, he got out, looking for her. "Princess!" he yelled, looking under tables. "Princess!"

She was behind the last table he searched, bleeding out her head.

"Princess!" he whispered, kneeing down, taking her head in his lap.

"Dunc- Duncan..." she whispered faintly.

"No... no!" he yelled. "Why didn't you hide?"

"Didn't... know. Too... late," she gasped.

"Princess," he said, shaking his head in shame. It was his fault she was lying on the floor, bleeding. It was his fault she even came along.

Yet she's smiling as she dies, and whispers, "No regrets." Before kissing him once more, and silently takes her last breath.

"No... no!" he yells. He stayed there, holding her tight. When the ambulance came, he rode along with her. They told him there was no hope - she was dead. But he didn't care. He'd stay with her until the end.

-

She was buried on May 31st, on a rainy day. He was silent the whole day, never speaking. He died his hair back that day, and took out all piercings. He had to honor the girl he loved and treasured, who was now dead.

When the ceremony ended, it stopped raining. A rainbow came out. As everyone watched in awe and sadness, they didn't see a single tear roll down Duncan's face. He wiped it away, and left without another word. He knew what they would say.

-

On June 31st, Duncan committed suicide. He couldn't live with the guilt. He couldn't live with the regret. He couldn't live without his princess. And even though her last words were to make no regrets, he just couldn't do it. He had killed and lost his only love. Princess.

A/N: Sad? I know... but it came to me when I thought "no regrets". Sorry for the sadness of it :( And I'll try to update 'Kiss Me In The Rain' soon, but parental controls won't let me edit the story (meaning adding chapters too), so it might take some time. But it will be completed. Thanks :)
