The Man Himself
By Rurple101

Sam Tyler; the man who I secretly admired stood in front of me as he held his police notepad in one hand and stirred my tea with a spoon with the other. He picked it up and walked over to me. I watched him walk over as if in slow motion and mentally cursed myself - this was stupid he was my supirior officer and friend. But we were going to go undercover and see if that evil man was comitting the crime we knew he was.

He handed the tea to me which I took warmly and he sat down oppsite to me. The embarrassing thing was that I had a feeling I fancied him and now my eyes would...wander elsewhere than his face. Stop it Annie! I told myself. This is ridiculas - Sam would not feel that way with me, he was...well Sam!

He was wearing a striped shirt today but he had it buttoned up to the top so I couldn't see his St. Christopher pendant which when you did see it, you could tell he had rushed to work in the morning. Over-all his appearance was quite striking, his black leather jacket, his typical seventies jeans with the belt. I sighed mentally - my head was nearly as bad as Sam's!

He looked down at his notepad and then started talking and I tried very hard to listen, rather than 'eye him up'.

"So we met on the cannel footpath...Spring..1970.." he said as he jotted it down like the good copper he was. I rolled my eyes, only in your dreams Annie.

"I was lonely...wondering if I would ever find..her.." he said, causally. It made goosebumps travel up my arms and I was glad I had my long sleeved shirt on today. A part of me felt sad, even though this was fake, I could enjoy the experience while it lasted.

"Her..?" I questioned.

"Yeah...the one..you know the one we're all...searthing for.." he said swiftly, looking down as he wrote it. Again I raised my eyes. He was so sweet sometimes.

"Me dog was struggling...thought he was gunna drown.." I said imaginatively.

"Terrier..." he replied, again writting it down. "Airedale Terrier" I corrected and again he jotted it down.

Then I said dramctically, "Then you jumped in and saved him...you were my hero." Still bloody are, Sam...

Sam sighed heavily, looking up and setting aside his notepad, leaning forward in his chair. "You sure you wanna do this?" he asked, softly. My heart did a somersault.

"We were married a year later.." I said, ignoring his question.

"Might get a bit dangerous." he continued. Not shit Sam and I thought it was fun to roleplay.

"You were never lonely again.." I sighed.

He sighed my name "Annie.." God my name sounded nice from his lips. Stop it Annie!

"We had a lovely honeymoon in Blackpool" I said, smirking as he leaned back and smirked as well.

"I was so surpised you were still a virgin!" I exclaimed. He burst out laughing quietly which made me smile happily.

I loved it when he laughs; his whole face lights up and his delightful cheeky bastard grin appears as he chuckles. I just gripped the tea mug in my hands tighter and very glad that my voice hadn't shaken.

I love his laugh, I love his appearance...I love him, the man himself: Sam Tyler. But he will NEVER know.
