Hey, everybody! This is the first chapter of the revised version of my story, Universe Jumping. It's taken a while for me to work out everything (as some of you may know), but I've finally managed to rewrite, what I hope will be, an amazing story!
For those who read what little I managed to write of this story, yes, it is still a multi-fandom story, or a crossover. I want to point out that while this story is under the Percy Jackson fandom, there will be NO Percy Jackson characters appearing! The reason for this is Alice, my OC, is a demigod from the Percy Jackson universe. The second thing that I want to point out is that this story is also under the Ouran HighSchool Host Club fandom, HOWEVER, the character that is from that universe will not be appearing until a little later in the story (some time around chapter 3 or 5).
The third and final thing I would like readers to be aware of is that this story will NOT be taking place in either of these fandoms. A majority of this story will be taking place in other fandoms or in places of my own creation. With that all said, I would like to personally thank my dear friend, duke1294 on Wattpad, for his help in developing this story.
I will say no more other than enjoy, and please, R&R! (Comments are appreciated)
(Midafternoon, 3:24PM)
Stretched out on the bed, with eyes closed and body relaxed, Sam sighed contently, humming as she exhaled.
There was nothing like a cat nap to rest up from the past week. High school was getting tough again; all of Sam's teachers seemed homework happy, but luckily, there was never so much that she couldn't handle the workload.
Right now, Sam relished the silence that the small building sat in – every room empty except for the one Sam occupied. She had finished her homework and was content to just lie there, on that bed, for several more hours until she had to go home.
Unfortunately, it was at that serene moment that her watch began to beep, flashing a bright red light. Sam brought her right arm up to her face and tapped a button on the side, scowling at what the screen showed her.
"Just when I was about to get some shut-eye…," Sam grumbled under her breath. She rolled off the bed and stood, still pushing buttons on her watch. Then, her eyes widened at the screen, "Shoot!"
Bringing up the screen, so that it was a projected picture at eye level, Sam turned the face of the watch until the highlighted box matched with the red alert area.
"Send an alert to the others," Sam instructed out loud. She dashed into the next room, an armory that was filled with many weapons of different size, shape, and origin.
The teen grabbed ammo, loading mew magazines into the guns that had been resting in the holsters at Sam's hips. After grabbing and hiding several knives on her person, Sam began to walk forward, and in the moment between one step and the next, she slammed her hand on the watch face.
Bright blue light encased the teen and then she disappeared from the armory altogether.

The same light spat the teen back out, except now she was walking outside, past strawberry fields and toward several monsters gathered around what looked like a gigantic rip in the scenery.
Many of the people around the area were backing away, looking slightly panicked.
"Everyone stand back! This isn't what you're used to!" Sam proclaimed. She approached the monsters, but stood a good distance away, more than immediate striking distance.
"Darling, where are they from?" She whispered into her earbud. Her assistant quickly scanned the closest monster.
"Lord of the Rings, I believe the name is," Darling replied. Sam pulled out a gun, turning the safety off with a click. The monsters, which Sam was now sure were orcs, grunting and bad-smelling, moved forward with their weapons.
Suddenly, blue lights flashed behind Sam, bringing the rest of her team just as she raised her weapon and fired. The group of orcs seemed surprised at the newcomers, as well as the sudden downfall of one of their comrades.
The group of humans, six in total, took this opportunity to attack, katanas and guns blazing.
Sam focused on corralling the orcs away from the natives of the universe, and keeping the natives, who were ready to fight with swords, away from the monsters.
"We have it under control," Sam repeated. "There's no need to help." She whirled around, firing bullets into the orc that had been trying to sneak up behind her. It went down and stayed down, and Sam hopped over it, shooting at the closest monster.
Three of the orcs, just having crossed through the rip from their own universe, had orders to grab the resistance team and they concentrated on fulfilling their job. Two of them grabbed hold of four members of Sam's team, one person in each of the monsters' hands, and headed back for the rip.
"Sam! Ethan!" One of the girls shouted out. Sam mumbled a curse and sprang forward to intervene, but the orc had already passed through the rip, the second orc following right after.
The third orc grabbed for the boy named Ethan as the remaining, wounded and growling, fled. Ethan's katanas dropped from his hands as he was captured, and the monster turned to scoop up Sam.
As the monster turned, however, it was shot, multiple bullets digging into its hide. The orc dropped to the ground, bringing Ethan down with it. The boy was knocked unconscious by the impact, and lay there, still in the monster's curled fist.
Sam, desperate not to lose the orcs carrying many of her friends, sprinted to the rip, diving in without regard to where she'd end up.

(Evening)
Ethan slowly came into consciousness, feeling pain all over his body before he even began to try and open his eyes. Blinking to get his eyes to focus faster, a figure with light hair came into view, hovering above where Ethan was lying.
As the figure came into focus, he found it was the head of a blonde and scowling female. One that was tending to the cut just above his eyebrow.
She dipped the damp rag into a bowl in her right hand, and brought the rag back up to dab at the wound. Ethan flinched when the cloth came into contact with his forehead.
"Ah!"
The blonde's scowl only deepened. "It's just rubbing alcohol, stop being such a baby," she clipped out. The girl set the bowl and rag down on a nearby side table, and picked up the bandage laid there. She took the seals off and placed it over the cut.
After that she muttered, "Stay here," and left the room.
Ethan took his time sitting up, turning on the cot so his legs dangled off the side and his feet hit the floor. He looked around, making sure there was no one else around, then peered down at his watch.
He pressed several buttons, studying the holographic screen that rose from the device. He turned the watch face, directing the highlight over countless boxes. Upon hearing approaching footsteps, he turned the screen off, concealing his watch with his sleeve.
In walked the blonde, as well as a centaur with brown hair and an unkempt beard. Behind them trailed a bored looking man with curly dark hair and a leopard print shirt on.
"Ah, you're awake, my boy. Good, good," the centaur greeted, eyes sparkling. "Hopefully you can answer a few questions for us regarding the attack." The blonde went ideally about, ignoring the conversation in favor of unnecessarily tidying up the medical supplies.
Ethan turned his eyes on the centaur. "Uhh, sure. What do you need to know?"
"Well, a good place to start would be to explain how you and the others got here. We'd especially like to know how the monsters got through our borders," the centaur said, stroking his beard.
The teen absentmindedly raised his hand to his head, feeling the bump on his head. His face scrunched up to show how hard he was concentrating on the events that had occurred. "Sam contacted us that there was a rip in one of the universes, and we arrived through the usage of our watches." Here, Ethan paused to bring his watch out and show it to the two adults. The blonde girl didn't turn around, but Ethan knew that she was peering at the device out of the corner of her eye.
She seemed to deem it unimpressive for she turned away, focusing on standing on her tiptoes to place a bottle back on one of the top shelves.
"And what is a rip?" the bearded man asked.
"It's….. a hole that connects one universe to another. They don't happen often, but we think they occur when two universes collide with each other, for whatever reason," Ethan explained slowly, as if searching for the right way to explain a concept he himself didn't quite understand.
"We?"
Ethan shifted on the bed. "My team and I…- Where are they, by the way?" The boy peered around the room, believing his friends had to be close by.
The air in the room grew still, and the centaur straightened, his facial expression set in a frown and his eyes sad. Ethan grew confused, but he also started to get a dreadful feeling in the pit of his stomach. He felt like his body was subconsciously bracing itself for news it already knew about.
"Campers reported seeing two of the creatures carry off your team members. You were grabbed next, and the final member of your team, a red-haired girl, shot the monster, causing it, and you, to fall down," the kind centaur described. "Someone said they saw the girl dive into the rip, as you called it, after the fleeing creatures, but no one else saw anything of the sort. You were recovered at the scene, unconscious but breathing, and so we brought you here where Alice," the centaur gestured to the blonde medic still ignoring the others in the room, "has been keeping an eye on you and making sure you didn't suffer any internal injuries due to your fall."
Throughout the explanation of what had happened, Ethan had been sitting there, staring at the floor with a grave look on his face. Afterwards, he spent several moments quietly contemplating everything in his head.
"That must have been Sam." Ethan's eyebrows scrunched together, and he rubbed at his head injury unknowingly. "Only she'd do a thing like that. I have to go after her!"
The teenager stood abruptly, but was stopped by an unmoving hand to his shoulder and a stern face. Alice, the medic, pushed her hand until Ethan sat down again. She held a penlight in her free hand.
"You will not be going anywhere," she said shortly. "You just woke up."
She proceeded to do what any doctor does in the event of a head injury, shining the light beam into the patient's eyes to check that his pupils were dilating properly. Ethan sat through the rest of the test without objections, but his right foot moved up and down quickly and constantly, showcasing his fired-up nerves.
When Alice was done, Ethan shot up, focusing solely on his wrist watch. He brought the holographic screen up again, scrolling through the universes at a fast pace until he reached the one he was looking for. Without warning, he slammed his hand down on the watch face, disappearing in a blue flash of light.
The three occupants of the room blinked to clear their vision after the blue light had vanished, only to see that Ethan was no longer in the room with them.

(Three days later: midafternoon)
The armory is quiet, not a sound coming from anywhere in the building. Except…-yes! There; in the very back of the building. Do you hear it?
Come, we'll get closer. Past the armory, and the training room, through the connecting bathroom, and ending up in the bedroom. In the corner is where the noise is coming from. There, straight ahead. Do you see the figure working its way past the lock on the safe? That is the source of the noise.
The figure works for minutes, its body language showing that the being is not feeling rushed. But the flinch just now tells us that the figure is in pain; and as we hear the lock give way and the door being opened, we see the figure's hand, shaky and pale in the dim lighting, grip the door of the safe as the being steadies itself.
The figure reaches for the contents of the safe with the same shaking hand, its other arm wrapped securely around its middle. It puts the contents of the safe in a bag hanging off its shoulder one-by-one.
Suddenly, another noise comes from the front of the small structure. Voices – two people who have entered without the knowledge that a third person is taking objects from the safe in the bedroom.
We will go back the way we came, knowing that none of the armory's occupants can see us. Here, amongst the weapons, we are greeted with the sight of Ethan and Alice, the girl taking a few steps away from the boy.
"This is where we train and store our weapons," Ethan states, gesturing around the room. "We do a lot of traveling in our spare time, collecting weapons from different dimensions to store here. The training room is just beyond the door there, and past that is the bedroom."
Alice nods distractedly, lightly running her fingers along a sheathed sword being displayed by hooks on the side of a wide cabinet.
The boy, having been left feeling dejected by his unsuccessful search of a majority of the Lord of the Rings universe, watches for a beat before speaking up, "I still don't understand why you agreed to come with. You're not even interested in helping me find my friends."
Alice doesn't even look up, "You heard what the Oracle said."
"Yes, but that doesn't mean-" A thud sounds from the bedroom. Both teenagers turn to stare at the door.
One of Ethan's katanas appears, as if pulled from an invisible sheath at the boy's side. "Get behind me," he instructs to Alice.
As we follow the pair down a well-known path, Ethan draws up short, flicking the light switch up. Blinking as their eyes adjust to brightness now lighting up every corner of the room, Ethan and Alice stare into the empty bedroom.
They both end up staring at the open safe in the far-right hand corner of the undecorated room. Double checking the room, Ethan moves forward, inching closer to the safe before slowly peering inside.
He sticks an arm in, and then withdraws it. Standing behind Alice, who remains in the doorway, we can see that the object Ethan has withdrawn is a single watch, one that matches in likeness to the one strapped around the boy's right wrist.
