THIS JUST A SHORT ONESHOT FOR HITSUKARIN.

Toshiro tossed and turned in bed, his mind troubled. Lately, the Kurosaki girl who he had only seen a few times (if you count more than a dozen times a few) was messing with his head. Whenever he'd had a day off or a mission to go to the world of the Living, he'd always find himself in her company. Be it playing soccer, visiting Grandma Haru, watching the sunset, sitting by the river or simply hanging out on the roof of her house or school on days when he didn't have much time.

He noticed her reistsu has been growing and knew she took down the occasional Hollow. Her control and technique improved every time he saw her.

Thinking back, he remembered a conversation between Grandma Haru and himself whilst SHE was at school. The two had sat beside each other, a plate of candied beans between them.

"Oh? You didn't bring your girlfriend with you today, Toshiro?" "Grandma Haru, she is not my girlfriend. Also, she is currently at school."

The elderly woman sighed, "Well Toshiro I must say the two of you have become quite close. In fact, would you like me to share with you what she told me while you were in Soul Society?" He wanted so badly to refuse but his ears perked up. Seeing him reluctantly turn to her, the aged lady smiled.

"I had asked her what your relationship was and whether there were any romantic feelings between the two of you. Do you know how she reacted?" With tinted cheeks, Toshiro shook his head slowly.

"She smiled at the sky, almost wistfully and then she looked at me with such sad eyes for someone her age. She said 'Toshiro is my best friend. I don't hang out with the other girls that's what Yuzu does. And mostly, the guys fear me. But Toshiro, whenever he's around I don't feel so lonely anymore."

Later that day, he'd gone to meet her and they had played soccer and shared slices of watermelon by the river.

It had been a great day for both of them and although that had only been a month ago, which should feel like no time at all to a Captain who had lived for hundreds of years, he missed her dearly.

Karin...her name echoed through his mind.

So with a sigh, the icey captain of the Tenth division sat up and began to think of various excuses to throw at the Captain Commander on why he should visit the Human World ASAP.
