A/N: Fortitudo here: Sorry about the wait – once again, Virtus is sick, and I am lazy. Please read the A/N at the bottom, by the way – it's important.
The Fallout
"Princess?"
It was Puck who found Kurt in the locker room before gym class, the countertenor a whiter shade of pale, hair askew and holding his dainty hand up to his slightly swollen, darker-than-usual lips. His back as pressed up against the red lockers and he stared blankly ahead as if in shock.
Puck put his gear bag down on the bench and moved forward, placing an uncharacteristically gentle hand on the soprano's shoulder. Kurt didn't react, and remained frozen in his porcelain state, even when Mike, Artie and Sam wandered in.
"What did you do to him?"
"I didn't do anything, Wheels. He was like this when I came in.
"Kurt, dude, can you hear me?" Sam frowned as he approached the boy.
"He could be in shock." Mike suggested.
"We could push him under a cold shower?"
"Nah. That won't work. What about a hot drink? With loads of sugar? That should work."
"And just how many times have you suffered from shock, Puckerman?"
"Can it, Fish Lips. My ma's a nurse."
Kurt's hand slowly drew away from his mouth and the guys quietened to watch closely as he began to stutter.
"Oh my… Oh God…" He blinked, slight colour returning to his cheeks. He flexed his hand and then touched his lips again, confused, and more than a little scared.
"Princess?"
When he didn't appear to hear Puck, the teen went to touch his shoulder again, only to jump back when utter rage clouded the smaller boys' features.
"That…that BASTARD!" Kurt pushed off from the lockers forcefully, anger emanating from him in invisible waves, causing the other boys to fall away in surprise. "JUST WHO THE FUCK DOES HE THINK HE IS?"
"Kurt!"
"Princess!"
He ignored the cries of his glee-mates, and instead he ran. Away from the concern and the pity, the sympathy and the questioning, but most of all he ran away from the realization that though he could try and deny it, the truth was there, niggling away under the surface.
He had just been kissed by David Karofsky.
And he had liked it.
PLEASE READ – THIS IS IMPORTANT: We apologise if it seems like we're abusing the Authors Notes, but we need this idea out there and we need a little feedback.
We have a proposition for you guys, but we need you to leave your thought in a review or PM (PM would be preferred, unless you are anon), because we have no idea how it would be received. Virtus has 34 (yes, we counted, it's not an exaggeration) WIP's on her laptop, and for some reason she's trying to work on them all at the same time. So Sapientia thought up the following idea…
What if we started a fic that had a sample chapter from each one, and we set up a new poll each week? So, for example, we'd publish a prototype chapter 3 from the first in the 'Of Roses and Thorns' series (which would be edited so you wouldn't be completely lost) and the following chapter would have a prototype chapter 6 from 'Figures', and then you would vote on which one you preferred? When the thing is finished, we'd set up one last poll comparing all stories together and the one with the most votes would be the first we finish and begin publishing. We need to know how many of you would actually vote.
Let us know!
