"Why are you looking at me?" Teresa asked irritated. She didn't like this new place, and didn't want blond guys observing her, or paying her any attention. It crept her out; particularly because she was the only girl in the place.

"Excuse me?" he was taken off guard. He had a calm tone of voice, and only by hearing it you could tell he was well mannered, and respected her. No a hint of bad intentions behind them.

"Why do you keep looking at me?" she asked. She sounded irritated, but this time she was acting.

"I'm not looking at you" he said, with the same tone of voice.

"Oh, come on. Don't lie to me. I see you sneak a peek here and there. Do I have something on my face?"

"No. Just face is pretty. That's all" he answered simply. Was it possible for someone – anybody – to sound so casual while being so bold? "Your face is pretty. So forgive me for looking at you. You are a tough big girl, and I like you personality. Does that mean I'm going to hit on you? Yeah right, keep dreaming." He elaborated when he noticed that Teresa had been left speechless – as if that was possible.

"What do you mean?" She asked. Genuinely confused. What in the world was just happening?

"I mean that, yeah. I like you" he said again way too casually but meaning it. "But I'm also street smart. I know that you have some weir telepathical connection with the greenie, and even I know better as to interfere with something related to the life we had before we were trapped in the maze. So no. I'm staying away form you, and I'm not trying anything. Don't get offended but you are not AS pretty as to make me risk my life for you; even less risk someone else's life. So forgive me for looking at you. It's the least I was planning to do anyway."

"Risking your life? That's a long shot. I don't think anything would happen if you had tried to hit on me. Not that I would have liked it though"

"Oh come on! Look around you. We are trapped in a freaking maze. As far as I'm concerned, nothing make sense. Therefore, I'm not getting int eh middle of weird telepathical connections form that come form a weird outside world that we don't even know anything about. That doesn't sound like a good plan to me" He answered, hoping the topic would die there. "Plus, you kind of scare me. You are mysterious. Weird. And the whole situation is kind of eerie." He couldn't help but add, which was true.

"Well you are right about the weird eerie situation, I'll give you that." She said. She felt silence for three seconds, while analyzing what just happened. "For the record, you are not bad. I like you better than some of the guys here."

"Really?"

"Yeah." Silence again. "So, what do you say? Friends?"

Newt smiled. "Yeah, friends sound good."
