Homemade Gift
Teddy stared at the drab weather outside. He had been planning to go out to play but quickly dismissed it. It was an ugly day with black clouds that looked like they were getting ready to open up for rain. It was definitely not a day fit to be outside.
He scampered away from the window and found Andromeda sitting in the library, a book opened on her lap.
"Grandma, I'm bored."
Andromeda smiled. "Go outside and play."
"Have you seen the outside?"
Andromeda sighed. It looked like she wasn't going to be doing any more reading, not until Teddy found something to entertain himself with. She thought about it and the perfect idea came to her. "Do you know what day is coming up? A week from tomorrow?"
Teddy quickly nodded. "Harry's birthday. I'm spending the night at his house."
She nodded. "Yep. And since you have nothing else to do today, maybe you can make him something as a present. You know how much he loves homemade gifts from you kids."
Teddy's eyes lit up. "I know exactly what to make him." He ran out of the room but quickly returned. You have duplicates of all the pictures, right?"
Andromeda slowly nodded, wondering what his idea was. "I want to make a mobile collage, where all the pictures hand and twirl around. Harry loves looking at old pictures of everyone. He can hang it someone in the house and look at it whenever he wants."
"That's a very nice idea, Sweetie. Do you need help?"
Teddy's smile was practically luminescent. "I want to do it all by myself." He left the library and went to the table in the eating room. He went through the photo album, choosing the photographs he wanted to use. He grabbed many of himself, James, Albus, and Lily. There were some with Ron and Hermione and the rest of the Weasley family. He found a couple of pictures of Harry's parents, Sirius, and Teddy's own father. After he picked out all of the photographs, he grabbed construction paper, scissors, wires, some string, and glue.
He got to work, sticking pictures to pieces of construction paper that were cut into fancy shapes. He then stuck the string to one end of the paper, and stuck the other end of the string to the wire, twisting the wire into shapes so the pictures hung freely.
Time passed quickly as Teddy worked and by the time he finished, it was almost dark.
He scrunched his nose as he admired his handiwork.
"Wow," Andromeda said, coming in with two bowls of stew. You should put that away so it doesn't get dirty."
"It's not what I thought it would be," Teddy admitted.
"I think it looks great, and Harry will love it," Andromeda reassured him.
"You sure? I mean, it looks kind of messy and uneven."
"Trust me. Harry will be overjoyed to receive it. He'll think it's the most thoughtful gift ever."
Teddy smiled widely. "I'll go put it in my room. Be right back, Grandma." He ran off to put it in a safe place. He couldn't wait to give this to his godfather.

(note: This came from my experience because I actually made a mobile collage for my dad one Father's day. It was a mess, but it was the thought that counted)
