Kiba sighed as he walked down the streets of Konoha. It was Valentines Day and the only thing he had on his mind was his female team-mate Hinata. He had fallen in love with her but she only loved Naruto, even though he was dating Sakura.
Kiba sat under a tree in the shade not really wanting to train. He was so depressed he had even left Akamaru at home. He wanted to tell Hinata that he loved her but was scared to do so just in case she didn't return those feelings.
He felt in his pocket for the valentines gift he was going to give her. It was a ring with a small crystal rose on it.
"Maybe I should just tell her that I love her and see what she does", he thought, " Nah what if she rejects me?"
While Kiba was still wondering whether to tell her he loved her not he didn't notice a shadow fall over him.
"K..Kiba?", someone stuttered.
Kiba jumped up startled and saw Hinata staring down at him. She looked beautiful in just normal civilian clothes except she was still wearing her headband around her neck.
"Hey Hinata, you scared me", Kiba said a bit nervous. He had decided to tell her that he loved her.
"Oh I..Im sorry", Hinata said and flushed when Kiba's eyes locked onto hers.
"Hinata I have something to tell you", Kiba said really nervous now.
"W..What is it K..Kiba?", Hinata asked.
"", Kiba said the words tumbling out.
"I..Im sorry I didn't h..hear what you just said", Hinata said looking confused.
"I said please don't hate me and please don't break our friendship, but I love you and happy Valentines Day", Kiba said slower and giving her the ring and placing a gentle kiss on her lips
Hinata was silent for a few moments as she looked down then she looked back up at Kiba with tears in her eyes. She moved forward and hugged him.
"K..Kiba I Love you too", Hinata said.
Kiba smiled and put the ring on her finger and they sat there on the grass in each others arms watching the sun set.
