My Happy Ending

She sat silently on her bed, her knees pulled tight to her chest as memories from the past few months flashed through her mind.

"Stupid Francis. Stupid France." these words echoing through her mind. "Was it something I did? Was it something you said?"

You were everything, everything, that I wanted

She glanced up, her eyes landing on the collage of photo's posted on her bulletin board.

We were meant to be, supposed to be, but we lost it.

Photo's of her and Francis scattering the cork board, her eyes locked, tears forming once again in the once clear blue eyes. Now deep stormy gray.

All of the memories, so close to me, just fade away.

"Why!" She screamed, throwing the pillow next to her at the board. A small photo floated to the floor, but no disturbance other wise came with the force as quiet sobs escaped her lips. "You cheater!"

All this time you were pretending

She jumped, her cell phone ringing on the night stand next to the bed. Wiping tears with the back of her hand, she looked over at it, answering slowly.

"Hello?" she whispered, her voice cracking under the suffocation of her tears.

"Lauri, are you alright? I heard what that frog did. Do you need me to come over?" Came the thick accented voice on the other end.

"Please," she sniffed, mustering what ever voice she had left.

"I'm on my way," Was his final response as the phone died.

"Thanks Arthur," Lauri whispered, pulling the phone from her ear slowly, staring down at the blank screen. She pulled her second pillow close, hugging it tightly as warm tears began flowing once again, the sobs returning all to familiar.

So much for my happy ending
