Summary:

All it took for him to lose her was a bullet to the chest. Then he couldn't place why the world seemed even emptier without her. 27OC; death.

Tsuna watches as she's lowered into the hole specially made for her. His body aches everywhere, and Hayato insists for him to sit. Tsuna stubbornly refuses because this is her, the one whom he loves, who's being buried. He can remember the incident as clearly as possible. She had wanted him to escape with her, but he couldn't because his Guardians and subordinates were still fighting. She was crying, basically bawling her eyes out, but he left her to fight.

Tsuna shuts his eyes numbly, his body becoming a shell as his mind replays her death.

Apparently, she had chased after him because she had a bad feeling.

"Tsuna!" She had cried, shoving him out of the way as the bullet raced to her chest. His luminescent orange eyes had watched in horror as she fell, the red liquid flooding from her body.

"HINATA!" He had screamed, pulling her body to his. "Hinata! Hina! Baby, please, open your eyes! Look at me!"

And her eyes had fluttered open, her doe brown eyes staring up at him. His heart slowly began to crumble. She smiled, her hand cupping his cheek, and he leaned into her hand. Tears began to fall down his cheeks as she coughed, blood flying from saccharine pink lips.

"It's not your fault," she had whispered, so low it was almost swept away by the roaring wind and distant voices. "Please... don't blame yourself, Tsu."

His eyes open at the familiar hand grasping his. He can feel her familiar warmth, smell her sunflower perfume, and picture her smile. The dark sky clears as he watches her silhouette watch him back, her smile never waning. She mouths words he didn't catch before she's gone. But his mind tells him what she said.

He looks where her corpse has been buried, and he realizes that almost everyone is gone. Only him, Hayato, Takeshi, Hinata's little brother, and her best friend remain. He looks at his two best friends, nodding at them. He approaches her grave, the lingering feeling of her presence never leaving, and with a final inhale of her permanent perfume, he gently rests a sunflower on her grave.

He walks away, fighting not to turn back because he wants to let her go, but he does anyway. And he doesn't regret it. He had seen an angel smile at him for one final time. He walked away with a smile, one that will always remain when he thinks about her and finally is able to join her.
