Silence
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho.
Hey everyone! O We've been doing sonnets and poems in class (Shakespeare) and I just felt like writing one. This is more like a story than a 'rhythmic' poem, but oh well. ;; It's about Hiei, of course. It's not as sad as I'd intended, but...Oh, and I apologize if there is any OOCness. I did my best. Please read and review!
From the moment I was born, to the time
of my first kill; all I have ever heard
is silence.
Not the whispering of the trees, nor the
howl of the wind; all I heard was my
beating heart.
Never had I talked to another being
until I met that young demon;
Lost, alone.
Fighting for food; desperate for shelter,
I can still hear his anguished cry in my
breaking heart.
Until I had met Yusuke, the fox, the
oaf; I felt no love. Nor will I know it
ever again.
The life of a demon is long, and a
human's is short. Their time ran out, but mine
could not.
And again, all I ever hear tonight...
is silence.
Whew! That one was tough. If you look closely, you'll notice that the first two lines had ten syllables and the third always had three. Dunno if that works, but I wanted to try something new. Please review!
