Shikamaru gazed down at the village from the Hokage monument. He'd been coming here often thinking about something that weighed heavily on his mind...Ino. A cool breeze passed over him as he made his back towards the village, taking his sweet time. As he was walking, he put his hands around his neck and gazed upward, looking at the soft white clouds.
"Well...I've got nothing better to do..." he thought to himself.
He made his way to a large tree and lied down on his back, enjoying the cool shade and the slight chill of the wind.
"It's been a while since i've gone cloud gazing..."
He laced his fingers together and put them behind his head as he watched the clouds drift lazily by. He closed his eyes and let the breeze wash over his body. He heard the tree branches sway and felt the wave of the grass. Shikamaru gave a small yawn as he opened his eyes to a bright cerulean sky, speckled with patches of white. He felt his tummy give a little grumble and chuckled.
"Yhea, i could go for some ramen too" he said patting his belly.
He heard the sound of someone's footsteps as they made their way through the grass. He turned his head and saw Ino making her way toward him. He smiled to himself and felt his heart quicken. Getting up and dusting off the dry grass that clung to his body, he smiled to her.
"Ne Shikamaru. Where have you been? Asuma-sensei was looking for you."
"He's probably looking for a rematch in go. He told me to meet him at the tea shop, but it's too far away and I was too lazy to go all that way and meet him."
Ino chuckled and gave him a warm smile. Shikamaru noted how beautiful she looked in when she smiled.
"Ne Ino"
"Hm"
"Um, I was just wondering...If you're not too busy, do you want to get some ramen with me"
Ino nodded"Sure"
As they walked down the steps of the Hokage monument, they were sure that what they felt for one another just seemed so...right.
