A/N: This short fic popped into my head today and I just had to write. If there is interest I do have ideas on how to continue. There would probably only be short 500 word chapters a week. Looking forward to hear from you!
Disclaimer: I do not own Revue Starlight.
Magnetic.
Maya felt the pull on her body as she crossed the bar.
It was impossible to believe but there was something about the women sitting across the way.
As Maya drew near she became more and more hypnotized.
"Claudine?"
It had been close to 10 years.
Who would have thought that after graduation the pair would be separated by their troupes.
Who would have thought that Claudine would have stopped writing after only 3 months apart.
After everything that had happened and how much time had passed it felt so strange for Maya to speak that name. She felt compelled to said it again, this time in a whisper, "Claudine."
The blond woman looked so different yet just the same.
Maya felt time slow as sleepless rosy eyes turned to meet hers confirming what she had hoped.
"It is you." The once top star found she was barely able to speak anymore.
Claudine tilted her head, squinting at her old classmate. Though she had reacted to her name, in the dim light she was unable to make out who this person was.
It seemed like forever until finally the blond spoke-
"M…Maya?"
"MAYA!"
-but her week voice was drowned out by another.
A beauty of a women found her way into their bubble
Claudine watched as this elegant woman pulled Maya close by the arm.
Claudine watched as this woman giggled gently as she asked, "Why did you run off?"
Claudine watched Maya smile and respond, "I saw someone I hadn't seen in in long time."
Claudine watched as this other women hummed with interest, taking her time to inspect the situation.
A smile graced the perfect lips of this unknown women, "Really now." She spoke with such a knowing tone… a judging tone. Claudine felt a weight in the air and it forced her to look back to her drink. She would not get involved.
From behind her back she heard Maya and the other women exchange hushed words.
"I see now why you wandered off. She's just your ty-"
"I said she's an old friend!"
"Just don't disappear like last time."
"I won't."
"Give me your pinky…Come on!"
"…"
"Good. Have fun I guess."
Claudine shut her eyes tight and took a large gulp of her drink. She shuddered feeling the liquid burn as it ran down her throat.
"Claudine?"
This time Maya's voice seemed even more hesitant.
Claudine turned around, careful not to exhale too heavily. She feared Maya would be able to smell the strong sent of alcohol on her breath.
"My friend-" Maya seemed to stress the words, "-can be really forward. I'm sorry if she startled you at all."
"I hadn't noticed." Claudine said sarcastically.
An unexpected chuckle caused Claudine to finally turn to face the burnet more intently.
"What!?"
"Nothing." Maya shook her head, still laughing to herself, "You seemed so different when I first came over. But right then I could have sworn we were back at the academy."
With a rush of emotion that had built up over the years- "I have changed." -Claudine suddenly felt her head begin to spin. "There is a lot you don't know about me." Her face flushed with embarrassment. The last thing she had wanted was to be tipsy during such a special reunion.
"And you think there is a lot you do not know about me?" Maya pulled up a seat with a single smooth motion, "But, I am hoping you will give me some of your time."
Maybe it was the drinks…
Maybe it was the expression Maya was giving her…
But Claudine could suddenly feel it too. It felt as though they had simply picked up where they had left off.
"You are still such a disagreeable women."
