All my brother did was try to fix the problem, the addiction. He didn't succeed. I know he wanted to protect me but the sin was already done…
The whispers echoed off the walls of her head and flew into the rocks surrounding the small campsite. Small quicksilver tears leaked out. They hit the ground with a small patter like rain.
"All he wanted to do was help," she whispered to herself, though it was no use. While the goddess sat in her misery a small goose waddled its way over.
"Has a child broken the rules, does she weep for the mistaken or does she weep for being caught? Child you have no reason to be weeping, you haven't been whipped yet or sentenced to mortal-hood!" Puffy silvery green eyes looked up to see the owner of the raspy voice, the goose. She shook her head,
"Nemesis why are you here, not even Hermes can find me here." The goose, Nemesis inclined her head,
"Artemis you are not the mortal rank of child anymore, you know why I am here." The wind sighed through the grass, Artemis bowed her head.
"You already sentenced me!" she said snapping her head up, "I had too much good luck, I went out of line- I was a naïve little girl and you sent Aphrodite to go cook up trouble, and Apollo my own brother! What more is there to do?" Nemesis revealed herself as the dark woman she normally was and stood above Artemis.
"Hmp," she muttered then glared at the younger goddess, "Don't talk with an attitude for Artemis, there are many things I could do. On one side of balance, I could kill what it is that you are scared about or on the other side I could tell all of Olympus and daddy's little girl, in the running, shall you no longer be." Artemis sniffled and glared into Nemesis's deep dark cold blue and black snake colored eyes. Nemesis stood there until bored turned around,
"Artemis I will come back tomorrow now you have a choice. Be a good girl and tell on yourself or… someone will for you."Artemis got herself to her feet in the cold autumn night and looked after Nemesis as she left.
"What did she mean someone?" Artemis murmured to herself.
