The reflection of the sun on the water of the lake was beautiful. Harry stared deep into the lake's depths, thinking. The shore of the Black Lake was the perfect place to think about anything that was on your mind. The topic of his thoughts on that particular day happened to stray to the unknown object of his affections. Ginny had been invading his thoughts quite often lately, and Harry didn't know why. He also didn't know why when he thought about her, his stomach turned and he got nervous and sweaty. But he always allowed his thoughts to stray to her, her long, fiery red hair, and her deep, sea blue eyes.

Harry smiled when he thought of them, the way they seemed to pierce him and see to his very soul. His heart skipped a beat as he thought about her smile, her perfectly white teeth and full, pink lips. Harry wasn't sure what these feelings met, but he knew he liked them, and didn't want them to change.

"Hey."

Harry jumped, scared out of his thoughts. He looked up to see the very person with whom his thoughts were consumed. Ginny sat down next to him, drawing her knees up to her chest.

"I like to come out here to think." She said staring out into the depths. "It's nice, quiet, private."

Harry nodded, no longer staring at the lake. Instead his attention was focused on the redheaded beauty sitting dangerously close to him. He took a deep breath and asked the question he'd been dying to ask. "Ginny, do you like anybody."

Ginny smiled. "Well, I do like somebody, but I'm not sure they like me back." She said carefully. "You?"

"I like somebody too, but I'm not sure they like me back."

Ginny smiled and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Well, tell me who it is, and I could probably help you out."

"How about you tell me first." Harry proposed.

"Let's say it together." Ginny suggested. Harry nodded.

"Okay. 1, 2, 3…"

"You." Harry and Ginny said this in unison. Ginny smiled and Harry blushed.

"Well, I guess that answers both of our questions." Ginny giggled.

"I guess so."

Ginny licked her lips and Harry stared at her pink lips. Suddenly, without thinking, he reached over and pulled her face toward him and kissed her. She responded almost immediately, moving her lips against his. The kiss lasted probably only a few seconds but to Harry it felt like ages. He didn't want to break apart, but when they did, he grinned. Ginny giggled nervously, and tucked another strand of hair behind her ear.

"So…" She said awkwardly. "What does this mean for us?"

Harry thought a moment before making his decision and getting up on one knee. "Ginny Weasley, will you go out with me."

Ginny laughed out loud, nodding frantically. "Yes. Yes, I will go out with you."

They stood and shared a hug and a quick kiss before taking each other's hand and walking back to the castle.
