A/N - A little drabble about a family reunion. I'm in a family/marriage/true love mood these days. Any guesses as to why?
A rich scent of brewing spices evaded my nose and tingled my senses. Pots of hot food brought with it a chance to gather with loved ones and enjoy a hearty meal. Tables decorated with home-made delicacies enticed any onlookers to mouth-watering chatter.
The sound of laughter echoed through the long corridors and the vast halls. They were like chiming bells; melodious rhythms of the songs that swarmed our minds and graced our lips on many a joyous night. Those tuneful voices were ones I had longed to hear for what seemed like an eternity and more, but was merely half a month in reality.
The grand chandelier that hung proudly above my head boasted elegance and dignity yet welcomed a guest to a place that was well upheld and truly cared for. Layers of crystallite diamonds lined the silver hoops of the ornament, reflecting a bright light in every direction and bathing the hall in seductive hues.
Magnificence in its prime.
The brims of my eyes were flooded with tears and emotions overcame my unwavering form. The longing and agitation of having a quick arrival was pouring out of my dishelved soul and caressing me in a fierce tidal wave of bliss. The chastity of this truly beloved sanctuary provoked in me a ferocious sense of profound belonging. I could barely believe my hazy sight as three children bounded towards me and I enveloped my baby boys in a crazed embrace, their father, my beloved husband, leaning against the wall, grinning. I was finally in the place which I would never want to leave; where my mind, heart and soul were beautifully content.
I was home.
