"How could he do this to me?"

Buffy thought as she stumbled into her dark dorm room.

"Will must be asleep, I'd better stay quiet." She muttered to herself.

The blonde hair slayer moved quietly to her side of the room, to her closet. Discarding her dusty clothes for her yummy sushi pajamas and crawled into her bed. Just as she was about to sleep the blond heard a faint voice.

"How was your slaying?" Came the small voice from the other side of the room.

Buffy rolled over so she could see her best friend curled up in her bed across from the room.

"Um... just the normal slayage Wills, there is absolutely nothing wrong!" She quipped.

"Uh huh, that's right" Willow looked, very disbelieving at Buffy, they had been bestfriends since early highschool. She knew when her friend was upset, and wanted to know why.

"You seem edgy, you alright?"

The slayer sighed and rolled back onto her back, staring at the ceiling. "I'm not edgy Will, I kind pointed out that I'm fine, just a bit tired. That's all."

She hesitantly tried a smile, but Willow caught the hesitation and new instantly that something was wrong. Her slayer never was the kind of girl to hesitate, especially with her around.

"Hey Buffy, see this?" The Wicca pointed to her face. "This is my resolve face, so tell me whats up cause I'm not going to stop bugging you until I find out what's going on." While saying this, Willow got up and swiftly moved to Buffy's side of the room and sat down next to her bestfriend.

"Oh come on Willow." Buffy groaned and gave Willow pleading eyes, silently begging her to let it go "I'm just tired, don't do this."

Buffy never talked like this, and the Wicca knew that. She was right; something was up with her friend. And as a best friend it was her job to find out.

"I'm not giving up Buffy, I'm your friend and something's obviously bothering you." She slowly crawled up beside the slayer and lay next to her.

"It's just that.." The blond sighed. "It's just that Riley is always leaving with his beeper in the middle of the night, or when we're having alone time. He says it's important business. But i'm sorry. He's a university student, theres really nothing besides homework that is really.. ya know, important"

"Maybe it is? Who knows Buffy, he could be apart of a secret cult trying to make sure all the little good boys and girls are asleep by a time." Willow winked and nudged Buffy, trying to lighten her mood.

"At 4 in the afternoon? Or at 2 in the morning?" The slayer looked at the Wicca. "I really doubt that."

Willow looked down and laughed a bit. "It could be, it could also mean that he just really does have something going on. Again, who knows?" She reached out and embraced Buffy.

"Can't you talk to him?" She whispered.

The slayer leaned into Willows embrace. "No, I won't. I'll just live with it for now, maybe later he'll trust me enough to tell me whats going on."

Suddenly Buffy felt so much better talking to Willow. Just like something she needed to do.

"Buffy?"

The same old Willow came back and so did her quiet voice. The blond smiled and whispered back, "Yes Will?"

"This is my job, I'm your friend, you can always count on me. Come and talk to me when you need to, I really don't mind." The redheaded Wicca smiled, pleased that Buffy had opened up to her.

"Thank you." Was all the reply Willow heard before the two friends nodded off to sleep.

The End.
