Well, look who's here. Just some dark, angsty teenager with too much time on her hands :) My first fic for Ib, though I'm hoping to write more in the future.

Disclaimer; Oh yes. I'd definitely love to own a museum full of soul-eating pictures and statues. NOPE NOT TODAY.

It's a shame, really.

That such a beautiful flower has to go to such a horrendous waste. It never was meant to last, after all. It was meant to be ephemeral, shimmering gently like a drop of morning dew and then evaporating, leaving nothing behind to even mark its existence.

It wasn't supposed to flourish and grow forever; that's not what flowers do. They emerge from the damp soil, little green shoots smelling of rain, and grow, twisting into curling tendrils and gossamer leaves and silken petals. They bloom, if only for a heartbeat, and then they wither, becoming decimated husks of their former glory.

Hers was especially beautiful. A smooth, unblemished stem- no ugly thorns to catch your fingers on- glowing with verdant life, the base glistening softly with drops of sparkling water. Waxy leaves reflecting the stale candlelight, flames dancing and glowing, tinged with a deep emerald green.

And the blossom was a work of art, a masterpiece worthy of Guertena himself. Dark crimson red coiled at the bottom of the bloom, melting upwards into a ruby centre, petals tightly packed into a swirling labyrinth of colour. That was at the beginning. Only five petals remained now, trembling on the golden bud, attached by a sliver of garnet thread.

And it suited her so well. Wasn't she like a flower herself, lying in a sea of fallen petals, her red skirt billowing out around her and her darkened eyes slowly closing? Wasn't she only a rose, blooming quietly and yet magnificently for a few fleeting hours before she inevitably withered and died like the rest of them?

Really, thought Mary as she plucked off another petal with slender white fingers, remorse quickly flitting across her sapphire eyes, it was really such a shame.

Hmmm. Drabbles. Hope you enjoyed (though how it's possible to enjoy that, I'm not quite sure.
