It was a quiet day for the Scouts. Quite an uncommon thing for them, but it left them no choice when they needed to wait for the supplies to be readied. Petra often liked to keep herself busy, feeling it was absolutely necessary for her to do something. So today, she decided to cook up some lunch for the rest of the squad. It's been a while since they had a real, warm homemade meal.
Of course, the food shortening didn't get any better so she had to work with what she got. She only had ingredients for a simple vegetarian soup since meat was so valuable nowadays. She started to cut up all the vegetables, which was a lot since the whole squad was boys and they tended to eat a lot more. Not to mention all the calories they burn off while training and out in the field.
Petra just got done peeling and cutting up the carrots when she heard the door open as she was about to start prepping the potatoes. She didn't need to look as she already knew who it was. There was only one person who drinks tea in the afternoon.
"Good afternoon Captain," She said as she starts peeling the potatoes. It was barely a blink of an eye before she felt two arms wrap around her waist.
"I said you can call me Levi when we are alone, remember?" He kissed her cheek before letting his arms go loose to make way for the cabinets where the cups are kept.
"Someone could walk in Captain and I rather not risk it,"
They had been together for a while now, secretly of course. It wasn't professional for a high ranking officer to be with his subordinate. They often just meet in his room and sleep together while stealing kisses when no one was looking.
Sometimes she wonders, if this is more than it seems. Or if it is just a fling. Does she mean anything to him?
Everyone knew Captain Levi as humanity's strongest solider. The squad knew him as crude, unsociable and has a temper as she told Eren a while back.
But she was the one who knew him more than that. She couldn't really explain it in words, but she knows when it's just her he lets his walls down. He becomes completely vulnerable when you would think he would guard himself even more with someone who is closer than the rest.
By now, the soup was boiling and Levi was pouring his freshly brewed tea. He walked next to her, tea in hand.
"It smells good," She looked at him, and knew his eyes held warmth that he rarely shows. She laughed a bit causing her lover to raise a brow in confusion.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, nothing at all," She kisses him on the lips and pulls back to see a surprised look on his face.
He let her into a place where only she could be. It was all she needed to dispel her insecurities and confirm that he truly cares for her more than she thought.
