My name is rick, and this is the story of the curse.
For many people, the curse is obtained by choice, or by not understanding what they were getting into, novice trainers tricked into a deal with the devil. Not me.
I was forced into it, a tragic tale from the beginning.
I suppose my story starts 6 months ago, when me and my mother went on holiday to ecruteak town. When visiting the burned tower, a magmar came to me, and became my friend. I returned to my sinnoh home, and magmar followed me. I caught it and then went on a small adventure, catching and training untill I was a pretty ok trainer, with magmar as my best Pokemon.
Then, a month ago me and my mother moved to new bark town. During the transfer... Something went wrong, other than magmar, all my Pokemon got released.
I spent the month getting used to johto. My neighbour, proffeser elm had become a friend and I did the occasional favour for him. So on that fateful morning, he asked me for a favour. He had an associate named mr Pokemon, who had apparently made a discovery. The professor was to busy so asked me to go. I agreed.
The trip there was no problem. Mr pokemons discovery was 2 Pokemon eggs. I took them back to elm, but on the way I met a trainer. He has a level 5 tododile ,ha as If it stood a chance against a level 60 magmar. Then the brat called me weak... Really?
So I carried on to new bark town. Just before I reached it, another trainer battled me. He was wearing a mask. He sent out a level 82 blastoise. With a single hydro cannon, magmar feinted. The trained spoke for the first time, and said "the curse of the nuzlocke is yours. You are now doomed" and he left.
I carried on to new bark town. Proffeser elm could heal magmar. But when i arrived elm was talking to a police man. The trainer that had used the tododile had stolen it from the lab. I then asked elm to heal magmar... But he said Magmar couldn't be healed. I told him about the trainer and what he said about the Nuzlocke curse. Elm seemed to understand a little bit. He had heard about a trial where if a pokemon feinted it couldn't be healed. There were other rules, but elm didn't know them.
He did know there were only 3 ways to break the curse. The first was to defeat the trainer that gave you the curse. Elm agreed to help me find him, talking to all his contacts, to find the masked trainer. The second was to find Nuzlocke himself, the first trainer to have had the curse. To elms knowledge, this hadnt ever happened. The final way was to defeat a league champion. The best thing I could do is while elm was talking to his contacts, if I took on the gym challenge. It would take me to a lot of town, make me see a lot of people, maybe even Nuzlocke or the masked trainer.
In order to help me, elm let me keep one of the eggs I had gotten from mr Pokemon. As i looked at it, a crack appeared as the egg began to hatch...
