A/N: I got this idea from Ashley the Great Sunflower, who posted a story with the same name, and I got the idea from the explanation of the roses at the beginning of chapter 1. Here is the explanation:
Roses are red, white, black, and yellow. Each with a different meaning and purpose.
The yellow rose, associated with cheer and good fortune, optimism, and friendship.
The red rose, associated with love and passion, romance and courtship.
The black rose, associated with passing and death, change and upheaval.
And the white rose. Innocence, purity. Sympathy, and spirituality. New starts. New
beginnings. New life.
A rose even in the dead of winter symbolizes life. A rose tainted by Jack Frost shows survival,
the Frost Covered Rose.
A Frost Covered Rose.
A rose covered in dew,
A heart made of ice.
The heart meets the rose,
And becomes something new.
They merge, Ruby meets Weiss,
And there is a frost-covered rose.
Two transformations occur,
And two lives become one.
They meet, they fall, they stutter.
And they each think, "I have won."
The first transformation:
A stone cold heart,
Warms to the world.
She fears damnation,
But yearns to take part,
And to be twirled.
The second transformation:
A bubbling brook of emotions,
Wondering what is happening to her.
She wants elation,
but she only receives demotions,
and this is not what she would prefer.
The intellect and the brawler step in:
The know what is happening,
And they decide to help.
They devise a plan to make the love deepen,
They know it won't be soon,
But they will make it work.
They decide on a party,
They make their plans.
The rose and the heart are invited,
But neither know the true reasons.
The brawler helps the heart,
And the intellect helps the rose.
The brawler and the heart enter first,
And the brawler hides in a closet,
calling the intellect.
Where are you? She hisses,
Coming, is the reply.
Hurry, I don't want to delay!
The rose enters,
Resplendent in a crimson dress.
The heart freezes,
Then is bodily carried over to the rose.
The brawler and intellect hold them both,
Not letting go, they force them to talk to one another,
And they realize the feelings are mutual.
They talk, and sometime during the conversation,
They are released.
They haven't a clue,
So they keep talking.
They talk until the party is disbanded,
Then go their separate ways.
The next day,
They meet at lunchtime,
In a secluded corner of the campus.
They whisper, they eat, and they are happy,
But, unbeknownst to them,
The brawler and intellect are watching.
This routine was repeated,
Day after day,
And the brawler watched always.
The third day,
The brawler catches them kissing.
Jumping out of cover,
She yells, aha!
I knew it! You do love each other!
The rose and the heart blush,
Going bright red.
Then they smile, and says the now-unfrozen heart,
Yes, we do.
When a dew covered rose and a frozen heart met,
All thought that it would explode,
But instead, it created
The Frost Covered Rose.
