IN THE DARK [Incomplete]
Arthur had lost count of how long he had been in the painful darkness that surrounded him. His whole body ached; he had been through endless torture since he got there and yet it was nothing compared to the suffocating darkness that did nothing but hide his captors' faces and the state his body was in. His heart thundered inside his chest, wanting to get out, wanting nothing more but stop beating and let his body die, but his captors wouldn't allow it. He had no control over his body, and maybe even his mind, as he had lost everything when he was swallowed by the darkness.
In the times when they left him alone, when he could hear himself think and breathe and just stay still, he thought of the life he left behind. He had completely forgotten what they looked like, the ones that used to be important to him, and he thought about them and his forgotten memories. He sometimes wondered if they ever tried looking for him, but there was a nagging voice in his head, something that sounded too much like the voice he lost long ago, that told him that they wouldn't look for him because there was no reason to, because they didn't care, because they didn't like him anyway, and because they were actually glad that he was gone from their lives.
And somehow, despite his various wounds and bruises and broken bones, it was that thought, that he was never loved, that hurt him the most.
