It was a cold day next to the hudson river, soft drops of rain fell from the sky into the ground of which the duel was to commence. As the dark clouds boomed gently with small crashes of thunder very little was not detailed, many things were to be noticed, like the anxiety in this situation, some would call it a miserable day, but it was more of a dark day, one more dark than the other. It was a chilling day, to send a shiver down anyone's spine.

-*-

Alexander had agreed to a duel with Aaron Burr, a man he had grown respect for, yet man he seemed to hate. Alexander seemed to hate a lot of people, like he was an agressive person, he had publicly downed many people, and even commited adultery. But the reality was that Alexander was simply a man with a troubled past who seemed to cling to the strength agression gave him. He looked over at his first friend, yet, who was now his enemy, Aaron Burr.

-*-

Aaron Burr was glaring at the man a mere few feet away from him, furious at him for always ruining everything Aaron had aimed for, and he was prepared to die if it gave him even a slim chance of getting back at Alexander, for what Alexander had done. Yet all Alexander had done was speak his mind, something that the man had a habit of doing, a personality trait.

-*-

Aaron spoke to his second, discussing his funeral plans, for he was sure that he would not leave this duel alive, he had disgraceful aim, he couldn't his a target two feet Infront of him, well, he probably could, but for dramatic effect, people said he couldn't, which was fair, he simply just had terrible aim. He looked at the gun, taking in the details of it and almost glaring at it.

-*-

Alexander was now stood facing the raising sun gracing its crystal light over what was now known as new york city. He fiddled with his gun, examining it. Well it looked like that; he was silently debating whether to shoot Burr or let him win.

-*-

Alexander had a horrible past, and he had made many mistakes in his past. With all the sorrow piled on he didn't want to go on, but he would never have allowed himself to get stuck on that thought for long, it was a horror to think of itself.

-*-

He sighed and stepped up to Burr, he looked into Burrs eyes, his own eyes of a golden brown looked full of Sorrow, "Goodbye, Aaron." Alexander uttered sadly, offering a sad and apologetic smile to Aaron, turning on his heels and taking the ten steps forward.

-*-

He was not ready to face death, unlike Aaron who had prepared for it, he had imagined death so much, and how he would die, it was like a painful memory that he wished away, yet was about to come face to face. He wasn't ready to go to the other side yet, he didn't want to, he was scared, he wanted to be remembered, but like this? There was no time to think now.

-*-

Aaron was in position, having his gun ready for when he turned around.

-*-

Alexander pointed his gun at the sky, throwing away his shot.
