Chapter 1: Feelings

Emily woke up suddenly; another nightmare. She didn't understand why she kept getting them, but she assumed it was flight sickness. Although that didn't make much sense, she decided that her other options to why she got nightmares everyday were much to frightening to declare truth upon. The Stone keeper checked her wall clock: 1:30 am. It was much too early to get up, so she tried to fall back asleep. Her eyes as open as a watermelon as she lay in her bed; to freaked out to sleep, tried waiting until morning. But seconds went by like minutes, and minutes like hours! It was useless so she decided to get up and just walk around, maybe get a snack, some milk and drift back to sleep.

Walking threw the dark seemed easier than expected. The kitchen wasn't too far away from her bedroom, so Emily got there within seconds. She opened the refrigerator door and took out some bread, cream cheese and milk. As Emily fixed up her food she heard foot steps, though they were clearly foot steps, the Stone keeper blew it off and made a decree that it was just the wind. When she started eating the sound started getting louder, that's when Emily started to worry. After her last bite, it all went quite. Out of the blue she started feeling an unsettling presence. Then, with one sudden movement a hand rested on her shoulder. Instantly, the thought of everything that could be touching her right now raced in her mind, triggering her emotions and unleashing the power of her amulet upon who ever was behind her. Thinking it would make the situation better Emily threw her class of milk, landing directly on the stranger.

"HEY! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" a familiar voice yelled, angrily.

Emily noticed the light switch - she turned it on. As she looked around the room she noticed a big dent in the wall and Trellis sitting against it. He was conscious, but obvious in a lot of pain. He sat there for a long time moaning and cursing under his breath. Seeing Trellis look so helpless made Emily blush. 'He sort of looked cute…' She thought to herself. 'Wait. Did I just think of him as cute..? No way, impossible! He's an elf, not even human! Although, besides the bags under his eyes, he did have nice facial structure, shiny hair, and unlike most other elves, was really fit.' Thinking about this started to make Emily blush even more. She'd turned from a slight rosy pink into a bright red tomato, and considering Trellis didn't have his armour on and was completely nude waist up didn't help the situation either. These were the moments when she hated having teenage hormones.

"Aw, it's Emily's' first crush!" Her amulet was speaking to her. "No he's not! And for your information my first crush was in 4th grade." oh no, she said it out loud. This made Trellis stop moaning and cursing. He just sat there, staring at her with his eyebrows raised. "Sorry, my amulet was talking to me. You know how it is…" This made him smirk like an idiot. "Well, I should get going-"

"Hey, wait." He moaned

"What?"

"Come here."

Emily was scared now, but she followed his orders anyways. When she got close enough he grabbed her arm, pulling her down. He made the distance between him and Emily very close. Too close. At first Emily even though he was going to kiss her, but instead he put his lips next to her ear: "I think it's cute how Emily acts so brave - she's completely pathetic, but for some reason, if she was just 4 years older than she is now, I'd totally do her. Don't tell Emily…"

What he said was completely out of character, that's when the sent of beer hit her nose and she realized he was drunk.
