This is just after Snape's Worst Memory, in their fifth year.

A little pointless; a little cliché; a little repetitive.

I don't really do James and Lily, as everyone obsesses over them and it's just so tedious. Also, despite my love of canon, I think Severus deserved her way more.

Review please!

An Ugly Green

They were an ugly green, really.

When you looked long enough they were definitely like a toad.

Two big, ugly, warty toads. Toads that gleamed out of her unblemished face in all their horrible-ness.

And if he tried hard enough, he could see that her lips weren't all that perfect. Sure, they were thin and pink and inviting and perfectly curved. But if you really tried you could see that they were just like a large lump of uncooked pink meat. It was actually quite repulsive, really.

And her lovely thin jaw-line was nothing like what you would classify as flattering. It was much too thin; much too delicate. Kissing her would surely break her jaw; no good, no good at all.

And her perfect, spindly fingers that you just wanted to press against your lips – they were much like long worms.

And her slender arms and legs that moved to rhythmically and gracefully. They were all long and lanky and awful, actually.

And her hair – her hair. It wasn't at all soft and silky and he certainly didn't want to run his fingers through it and catch the rosy scent. Not at all.

And her light laughter really, really didn't want to make him be there to make her laugh for all eternity. And the way she tucked her hair behind her ears totally didn't make him want to curl the long, thin auburn strands around his fingers, just to hear her sigh and swat him away, giggling. And watching her lips move when she made one of her well articulated and witty speculations definitely didn't make him hard.

She was actually hideous. Definitely.

He just had to look hard enough.

And it was done. He didn't like her anymore. He wasn't going to obsess over her. He wasn't going to make Sirius ready to kill him with his constant dazed expressions as he watched her with her friends. He was sure of it.

He was used to being rejected, as it had been happening for three years, but this was the last straw. This time he had to put his foot down. Not only had he showed off his brilliant spell work, but he had forced that dickhead to apologize to her.

And what had she done? She had called him up himself and stalked off.

It was over. He was done.

They were an ugly green, after all.

But then she walked past him, and he caught the scent of roses. And her perfect lips were fixed into a brilliant smile. And her delicate fingers and arms were trapping her books so very delicately. And her slender legs were dancing her down the corridor. And her long hair was swishing behind her back.

And for an instant, her beautiful eyes turned to send him a disdainful look.

Her large, bewitching, almond-shaped eyes, the colour of the leaves in the spring time.

Hrmm, yes.
