"Come one," Rose said to her little daughter. "Let's go see if you can use the potty like a big girl."
"Okay," said Annabelle in her sweet high pitched voice. She toddled into the bathroom and waited for Rose to remove her diaper,then sat on the potty.
"Now let's sing the potty song," said Rose.
She and her daughter sang together.
"Now I'm a big girl
I can go potty
No more diapers for me
Now I'm a big girl
I can go potty
Aren't you proud of me?"
Annabelle got tired of waiting and jumped up.
"It's OK if you don't have to go right now," said Rose. "Just let me know when you do have to go, OK?"
"OK!"
Rose sighed. "I sure wish your Dad could see you now."
