"What is it?" She asked as she felt his footsteps into her room. He spoke, his eyes never left her, "Tomorrow is the day", a pause, "Are you…sure, that you want to do it?"
She slowly turned around, facing him, her eyes are brightening up with the color of blood. "It's too late to go back now". He jerked up, his face turned into a dark sharp. Suddenly, he took big steps towards, pulling her into his embrace and whispered harshly into her ears. "It was never too late, you have your choice, you just don't have to…"
Her finger silent him "You knew my choice" and then pulled out of his arms. He let her. She went back to balcony she stood before his entering, her hair was like flying in the wind. Her body shivered by the coldness of the night. He couldn't stop himself from staring at her. Always surprised by her beauty. He knew that tomorrow, that woman would disappear in his life. He felt regret. He's the most powerful vampire and yet, he just couldn't protect her. Instead, she was the one who protected him, opened a new path for him to lead his people.
"Kaname…"
He looked up, "Yes?". She smiled, knowing that he never saw it "Nothing, it was just… I love that name"
"So do I"
Silence continued covering them, maybe in the last moments of one's life, they just didn't know what to say anymore. Until…
"I never know your name, Hunter", Kaname let out. She was a little surprised by his question, but quickly back to her normal expression, "I'd like you calling me Hunter more."
"But wasn't this the last time we ever saw each other? You found it impossible to let me know your name?" he said while moving closer to her, to sense the great smell of her hair and gently took a few strands into his hand.
She refused his caressness and passing him, "It's not that. I think if you don't know my name, you could forget me easier, after I'm gone"
He shaked his head, "You helped me a lot, I could never forget you"
"No", she objected, "you would, and, it'd happen faster than you imagine"
"Hunter…", she glared at him , making him stop arguing. He found it difficult to dicuss with this woman.
"But Hunter, I saw a girl today, she's from the future."
She glanced up, hiding the surprise in her eyes "Really? How do you know?" He smirked, "I just knew so".
She signed boringly "Then what about her?". He took out his weapon, "She named it, Artemis!"
She whispered to herself "Artemis, Goddess of the Moon, will she bless us?"
He turned his back to her, preparing to leave the room. His voice ran in her mind, "Yes she will" and "Goodbye Hunter", then leave.
The woman placed her hands in her chest, feeling the warm of the sunrise. A new day began, as her life ended.
When the moon back to its sleep
The sun would warm the day by its heat.
This is a story about the night before the Hunter sacrifice her heart for Kaname. I really don't know her name, appearently that it is not mentioned in manga. And yes, the girl Kaname said is Yuuki. I don't remember exactly Yuuki appeared before or after the Hunter's death, so if there is any mistake please forgive me ^^
