In Regina's mind, all was left was Emma's last words saying that she deserves her happy ending. But how could she ever be happy without the person she cared about most, after Henry?

Regina didn't forget what Emma did for her in Isaac's dimension. And she also remembers Emma saying that actions are more important than words.

The blonde might said "I love you" to the pirate, but what her sacrifice was supposed to mean?

During days and nights Regina tried her best to find Emma.

Her supposed true love left her when he understood that he couldn't bring her happiness like the sheriff did.

The pirate left Storybrooke because everything reminded him of Emma.

Six months later, still nothing. Regina was barely sleeping. Henry was living most of the time with the Charmings because she didn't want him to see her like that. Speaking about Charming, he discovered that Hook killed himself before leaving Storybrooke.

Rumple still wasn't awake but according to Blue he was getting better.

Like every day, Regina went to the forest with the dagger. She needed to try again and again.

"Dark One, I summon thee"

And then, she appeared. Emma Swan, anger and pain in her eyes.

"-Please Regina, kill me! Save me! I can't stay like this..."

A crying Regina watched Emma screaming with pain. Her eyes were fully black. Her nails were scratching her face.

"-HELP MEEEE…AAAAAAAAAAARG!"

Regina didn't want to kill her but she knew she had to. To set her free. She saw the pain Emma was going through to keep the darkness inside.

But first she wanted a proper good bye. That's why she kissed her.

Then a strange thing happened. A powerful wave of magic flew all over the town. But none of them felt it. Their kiss was too passionate. But when they broke it, they understood.

Henry arrived at this moment. Perfect timing to tell them "True love's kiss can break any curse".
