A/N: A one-sided Ryella one-shot. I hope that you like it! It's in Ryan's POV, just so you know.
Disclaimer: I don't own High School Musical.
I had the house to myself. Sharpay was in Paris because of some foreign exchange student thing at school, Mom and Dad were both on business trips, and all of the maids and butlers had gone home. After watching Grease and singing and dancing along to every single song, I decided that I should get some sleep. All the dancing had tired me out.
Immediately after my head hit the pillow, I closed my eyes. Although dancing along to Grease had wiped me out, I couldn't fall asleep. After a while, I glanced at the clock, and I realized that I had been lying in bed for a half hour. There wasn't much to do in my room, so I decided to look at a picture that Kelsi had taken of Troy, Sharpay, Gabriella, and me. Basically, I just stared at Gabriella who was just right of the middle of the picture, with Troy's arm around her. I loved just about everything about her, and I thought that she was absolutely the most beautiful girl that I had ever seen. Sighing, I took in her beautiful, dark hair. My eyes stared at her face, unable to look away. Sometimes, her deep, dark, brown eyes just seemed to see through you; I wished that I could've been looking into her eyes at that moment. Not the eyes of her picture, her real eyes. They were more beautiful in person, but it was about 12:00 AM, and she obviously wasn't at my house.
Sighing, I just kept on staring at the picture… mainly at Gabriella. Then, I noticed the only thing that I didn't like about her. There was an arm around her… and of course, that wasn't my arm. It was Troy's. The only thing that I didn't like about Gabriella was the arm that was always around her… and that arm wasn't mine. Everything else was beautiful… borderline perfect. But Gabriella loved the arm around her shoulders, and it made her smile. Troy made her smile, not me. And Gabriella's lovely smile was enough consolation for the depressing fact that she smiled because of someone else. As long as Troy kept making Gabriella smile, I was okay with them being together. It was the only thing that made me able to stand their relationship.
A/N: I know, I know, it's really short. I'm sorry, but I couldn't think of much else to write… Reviews are greatly appreciated!
