"YANG!"

.: One Month Earlier :.

"Oops, sorry Weiss."

The rest of the occupants in Team RWBY's dorm watched in amusement as their resident ice queen and fearless leader run around the room. The former chasing the latter around, swinging her Myrtenaster wildly.

"GET BACK HERE YOU IDIOT! I NEED TO KILL YOU!"

"WAHHH, I SAID I WAS SORRY! YANG DO SOMETHING!"

Unfortunately for Ruby, her beloved older sister was too busy laughing at the pair while Blake watched them quietly over her book of the week.

"If you listened to Weiss then you wouldn't be in this situation. Again." Blake told Ruby, who somehow managed to attach herself to the ceiling with Weiss swinging Myrtenaster at her.

"Are we interrupting something?"

The four girls looked towards the doorway to see Team JNPR looking on at the scene with wide eyes. Ruby, spotting Jaune at the front of the group, launched herself towards the unsuspecting teen who fell to the ground, swirls spinning dizzily in his eyes.

"JAUNE! SAVE ME!" Ruby clung to the disoriented boy who mumbled incoherently.

"Jaune, are you okay?" Pyrrha questions worriedly.

"Oops, sorry Jaune, didn't mean to hurt you." Ruby quickly got off of her friend and pulled him up. Unfortunately, she pulled him a bit too hard for he flew into Weiss and the both of them landed roughly on the ground. Jaune hovering over Weiss, his face red and Weiss going from pink to red.

"Wow sis, seems like you're causing more trouble than usual today." Yang had managed to tame her laughter and helped the poor blond boy off of her white haired team mate.

Ruby paused in her attempt to escape the wrath of Weiss. "Well I can't help it. Something about today just makes me so energized."

Blake put down her book, marking the page she left off at, before standing up. "Besides having only five minutes until the assembly starts?"

Silence settled in the room, but only for a moment until everyone started to scramble out the door and down to the assembly hall. Blake shook her head before walking out of the room, locking the door behind her.

In the assembly hall, those attending Beacon, as students or professors, waited as Ozpin and Goodwitch made their way to the stage. Although, Team RWBY's always energetic leader seemed to have a really good feeling about the assembly, and those around her could definitely feel her giddiness.

Although, Yang couldn't help but shake her head at her sister's excited aura. Anything having to do with Beacon always got her sister in a good mood. Although, it seemed that today was different than any other day. She couldn't put her finger on it, but Yang could tell that this day would bring some changes. Facing the front once more, she pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind and waited for Ozpin to make his announcement.

Everyone watched intently as Ozpin took a sip from his ever present mug. Wanting to hear what the headmaster had to say. It must be something good if even Goodwitch was openly smiling.

"Good morning students and professors of Beacon." Ozpin nodded to all of them as they responded in kind. "Today I bring good news to our school. As you all know, every five years, a tournament comes up to allow those in all of the hunters and Huntresses schools to prove themselves to not only those of the Hunters Association, but to the public that they are the future. The future that brings about protection to those against the Grimm."

Taking another sip from his mug he took a breath. "This year, Beacon has been given the honor to host such a tournament. And the schools from all around will be bringing their best students to be a part of this tournament."

Excited cheers and chatter suddenly filled the assembly hall. Such an exciting event would happen at Beacon, and they were able to be there to witness or even be a part of it. As everyone quieted down, Ozpin allowed for Goodwitch to speak.

"Judging by your reactions the majority, if not all, of you are excited to try and participate, however there are some rules." A collective groan could be heard, and Goodwitch could not help but chuckle. "Don't worry, nothing bad. Those who are first years are allowed to participate, if they can past the preliminaries."

Ozpin stepped forward, "Now that is the end of the assembly. Take the rest of the day to rest and think about whether or not you wish to enter the tournament. Just remember, if you do want to participate, you must speak to your professors who will in turn let me and Professor Goodwitch know. Enjoy the rest of your day."

After that everyone started breaking off in their own groups to talk amongst one another.

"How cool!" Ruby exclaimed, jumping up and down in excitement next to her sister.

"It is, isn't it? Unfortunately if we want to try to even think about competing in this tournament we would have to go through the hassle of the preliminary stage." Weiss scoffed. Although, everyone could see that the Schnee heiress was also interested in the tournament.

"Should we do it?" Blake questioned. "It already looks like Ruby and Weiss are a go."

"I think we should do it." Yang grinned. "We'll show everyone what Team RWBY is truly made of!"

Ozpin grinned against the rim of his mug as he turned off his scroll. He knew that the members of Team RWBY would definitely take up this chance to prove themselves to everyone. It also helps that no one on the team could truly defy their hyperactive leader anyways. Goodwitch smiled as she had also seen the interaction of Team RWBY. Out of all the teams that we created this year, this team definitely showed the potential to make it big as powerful huntresses in this Grimm infested world.

"Ah, I almost forgot." It was a good thing that she had excellent hearing, for she was sure she wouldn't have caught what Ozpin had said.

"What is it?"

Ozpin turned to face Goodwitch. Smirking ever so slightly, the silver haired man only hummed as he turned around to head back into his office.

Shaking her head, Goodwitch followed the headmaster of Beacon to his office. It wasn't until later in the evening, as she was getting ready to settle in for the night, did she recognize the meaning of Ozpin's action.
