L sighed silently as he watched the two killers, neither had a weapon, which was probably best. Beyond, forever trying to surpass L, watched Raito carefully.
Raito picked up the bowl of carrots from the table in front of them, Beyond picked up a bowl of sliced apples and L pulled the chocolate covered popcorn closer to his chest as he watched.
Mentally L checked off his list:
lots of food to throw
no jam, hot coffee, or sugar things (no need to waste the sugar)
door locked
Kira case on hold for the night
Watari sleeping
Mello, Near, and Matt on wild goose chase
And last but not least his entertainment for tonight, two mass murderers and of course chocolate popcorn, MMMMMMM…
As expected Raito threw a carrot first and it was an all out battle.
L wondered about an hour later why none of the food ever came close to him but shrugged it off.
Eventually the vegetables and fruits were declared 'dead' missiles and lay forgotten on the floor. The two "warriors" moved on to the meat products.
Pigs can fly it seems as can cows. L guessed sometimes logic shouldn't play a part, it was beginning to make his brain hurt so he stopped and just watched the show.
Finally the two murderers ran out of food that was placed on the table. The two glared at each other, panting from their exercise then Raito dashed to the kitchen, Beyond close behind with L after them.
Raito held the whip cream can and Beyond held the chocolate syrup bottle.
"No!" L cried jumping between the two, into the line of fire.
L stared at the two criminals as he wiped a drop of chocolate from his cheek, then he licked his finger.
"So who won?" L asked.
Beyond and Raito looked at each other. Raito held out his hand,
"Tie?" He asked.
Beyond took the hand "Tie" he said, walking over to L, picking him up, throwing him over his shoulder, and carrying him to the bedroom, Raito following.
Near looked at Mello.
"Another goose chase." Near stated.
"What do you think they used this time?" Mello asked.
"They haven't used food yet" Matt said.
