I killed you in a dream last night Images of your anguish evident in your fright Your hollow screams resounding in the night
I killed you in a dream I had last night
Your blood stained my hands, my clothes, and the walls Your pleas for mercy on deaf ears did befall Bruised and cut in your failed attempt at flight
I killed you in a dream I had last night
You were frantic, screaming that you didn't want to die Your breaths erratic in your need to survive Now at a dead end, you uselessly tried to fight However, it was all in vain
You still died last night
Your breaths have stilled your eyes are glazed Features set in terrified horror I remain unfazed
Your body is cold your limbs are stiff My mind wanders as if set adrift Your mutilated corpse then begins to shift The air suddenly fills with a burgundy mist
It fills my mouth, my lungs and my every pore Bile rises in my throat suffocating me all the more I can't breathe, I can't see, nor can I hear
The screams, my screams break the silence They begin to grow in volume as I gaze down at the body
I have suddenly realized that I know this somebody
The eyes, the nose, the mouth My face
The familiarity of this girl causes my heart to race And then I open my eyes, having become awake
Speaking quietly, I gaze into the mirror My feature drawn tight
