Ben Hanscom and the Spirit of the Hero. - Prologue.

What happens to us when we die? The age old question, Man's greatest mystery. If Christians are to be believed, we go to Heaven or Hell. Atheist, would have you believe that life is all there is. That what awaits the dead is complete nothingness. And Buddhist have their Karma and Reincarnation. But who is right? I wish I could tell you, I really do. But I only know what happens to a spirit, to one spirit, the Spirit of the Hero.

The first thing you must understand is the Spirit and Soul of a being are two entirely different things. As for what happens to the Soul when you die, well, that's anyone's guess. But the Spirit, or rather this ONE Spirit. Has been passed on through many lives, in many different worlds, and realms. Always showing up, where and when it is needed most. Never remembering it's past incarnations. Some times it stays with a being for a lifetime, and other times. It stays for but a moment.

Now you might be asking 'Just what is, the Spirit of the Hero?' Well, I'll tell you. Have you ever heard of a person doing the seemingly impossible? Of a person overcoming insurmountable odds? Often through strength of will, and pure determination? Well that, is the spirit of the Hero. It is a Force of Good, that which drives a person on, that guides them in their time of struggle.

The last person to house the Spirit was a young boy named, Naruto Uzumaki. Who would go on to save his world from a cycle of hatred and war. The Spirit would stay with Naruto his whole life. But upon his death, the Spirit moved on to another that would need him. That other being a boy in a town called Derry, in the state of Maine.

This incarnation, would mark two significant changes. One, would be the reason the boy would need the Spirit in the first place. It would be an evil, unlike any the Spirit had faced before. And the other, because this time somethings from his most recent incarnation, would bleed into his current one.

And so we begin our story. The story of an evil clown, a group of friends, and most importantly. An overweight boy named Ben Hanscom.

(A.N) Hi, I honestly don't know if this story will get any readers. But I'm going to write it anyways. I always liked the character of Ben. Seeing as I was a fat kid growing up, who was always overlooked by the girls I liked. Who would always go for my friends, I guess you could say, I can relate to Ben. So I figured hey, why not write a story where he is the main Hero.
