I watched Kubo and the Two Strings pretty recently... And I'm really into Ninjago... So this happened.
I also noticed that Lloyd and Kubo are in similar predicaments. Lloyd lost his father, whereas Kubo lost both of his parents. I imagine Lloyd seeing his father's ghost, just moments after Day of the Departed.
Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon was sitting on his bed at Yang's temple, moments after the eclipse had vanished. He was still thinking about his father, Sensei Garmadon, who had passed away just two years ago. He had meant so much to Lloyd over the past several years. He was both his mentor and teacher, but also his best friend, and they both loved each other unconditionally.
The green ninja sighed softly, and thought to himself. If only you were still here, Father... I really miss you... So, so much.
Suddenly a ghost appeared. Garmadon had come as an apparition to aid his son.
"Dad..." Lloyd breathed. "It's you."
"It's good to see you, Lloyd. I've missed you dearly." his father replies. He morphed into a solid form, embracing his son tightly.
"I've missed you too, Father."
"I saw what happened to you and Misako in the Corridor. I'm so proud of how far you've come."
"I know... I love you."
"As have I. You'll be alright. I'll be here if you need anything. Farewell, Son." Garmadon said, vanishing from sight.
Lloyd smiled. Although they wouldn't see each other as often, he still came down every once in awhile to check on him. They wouldn't have it any other way.

In a completely different world, a young boy named Kubo was kneeling in front of his parent's grave. He'd recently defeated the sinister monster his grandfather had become, but because Kubo had used his shamisen, his grandfather was reformed back to a human, having forgotten everything in the past.
The young hero sighed. "Father, Mother, if you're here right now, I'd like to talk to you."
Instantly, the ghosts of his parents, Sariatu and Hanzo appeared.
"Oh, you're here!" Kubo exclaims. "Thank you for helping me."
"You're welcome, Son." his mother replied. "We both love you."
"Yes. We always have." Hanzo added.
The three of them hold each other close. Moments later, they all pulled away.
"I'll send you back." Kubo told them.
With that, the apparitions vanished. He picked up both lanterns, placing them into the river, sending them back to the afterlife. He smiled.
Everything's alright.
Yeah... That's basically it.
Cya, bye.
