A/N: I decided to write another fic, especially after the nasty review I recieved from some people called MXA on 'Twenty Facts'. This is my answer to it. Oh, btw, I don't hate Sam. She's one of my fav characters.

Disclaimer: I do not own Danny Phantom. If I did there would be more DanVal lurve and SamTuck would admit their feelings and get together.

Review!

Living in my own world

Didn't understand

That anything can happen

When you take the chance

I never believed in

What I couldn't see

I never opened my heart

To all the possibilities

(Something New, High School Musical)

Danny never thought he would have a chance with Valerie as long as he was Danny Phantom. It couldn't happen. He would eventually have to tell her right? Then what? She blasted him into the ghost zone? Most likely but still, a small part of him remained hopeful in the possibilites.

Valerie never though she would have a chance with Danny. As long as she hunted ghost, especially that ghost boy, she couldn't. It would endanger his life and it would be all her fault. Besides she would have eventually had to tell him her occupation? Then what? He would think she was as strange as his parents. Still, she would like the chance to one day.

Danny was never asked to the prom nor did he ask anyone else. Besides it only seemed fitting he'd go with his two best friends. He didn't like anyone in particular and it was better than not going at all. He would still have fun.

Valerie was asked to the prom once by the same guy and every time she would turn him down. She didn't want nor have the time to go to a dance any how. Besides she didn't have any friends and didn't like anyone in particular. She could always just work overtime.

Tucker and Sam were not as oblivious; despite their caution towards Valerie it was clear that there was something between them. So with Tucker hinting, and Sam grinding her teeth, they convinced Danny to ask Valerie to prom.

So he did and after much mental debate she said yes. Valerie didn't work over time and Danny didn't go with just Sam and Tucker. Everyone had a good time for once in the hectic life of ghost catching they lived in. As they danced, Danny's hands on Valerie's waists and Valerie's arms around his neck, they stared into each others eyes.

Maybe he didn't have to hope anymore and maybe that chance was today.
