Challenge: Crack

"What took you so long?"

"I got stopped by the landlord's wife. She asked how you were feeling, Dean."

"What'd you tell her?"

"That you'd be back on your feet in no time. She wanted to take care of you herself but I talked her out of it."

"Thank you for that!"

"She sent a care package, though."

"Lemme guess... chicken noodle soup."

"Nope. She called them crack sticks."

"Huh. I wonder why she calls them tha... oh my go... these are friggin fantastic!"

"It's like Heaven exploded in my mouth!"

"Sammy, next time I'm sick, we're coming back here!"

A/N: This was written partly because I want to catch up on some of the words I missed during my long hiatus and partly because the word screamed out to me. I tried my very first crack sticks today. They really are addictive. Don't believe me? Do a google search for "crack sticks recipe" and check out the pictures that are posted everywhere. They'll make you drool.

In short, the recipe is:

Cut the crusts off of regular sandwich bread and flatten it. In a bowl, combine cream cheese and confectioners' sugar. In another bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Spread cheese mixture on each slice of bread. Roll up, jelly roll style. Dip in melted butter, then in cinnamon-sugar. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake until golden brown. Try to eat just one. I dare you.
