*I lunged for his throat*
I was about three feet from Jacob when that part of my mind the was still human spoke.
"What are you doing, Bella?" it asked. "This is your best friend! He didn't really have a choice in imprinting on Reneesme! You know it was involuntary! And you also know he doesn't view her in that way. Stop this before you do something you regret!"
I dug my feet into the ground, sinking up to my calves into the soft earth and closed me eyes.
"Jake," I breathed, clenching my hands into fists. "I barely have my temper under control." I opened my eyes and looked at him pleadingly, "I am BEGGING you, please, get out of here before I do something I KNOW I will regret later."
I could hear the stunned silence that came from inside the house as I stood there, begging my friend to leave before I hurt him.
Jacob's eyes searched my face for a second before he turned and left.
