Christmas wishes
"Oh come on Donna, she didn't mean it come back out. Please." The Doctor begs from outside Donna's door. He knew he was lying to her, but he really didn't like to see her upset. Plus it was Christmas, and he wanted to spend time with Donna and Wilfred. "Donna, please.." he pleads once more.
"No way in hell!" Donna shouts at him from through the door. She hated Christmas, all of it, well no that's not true, there were parts she did like but, all of the lights, and smiles, and the cold, and finding the right presents. It all just stressed her out, it wasn't fun, and most of the time no one ever appreciated the gifts you bought them. But no her mother had to make it worse, of course her mother did, that's all her mother did. "Go away!"
"Donna, we want to spend time with you, it's Christmas, come out please." The Doctor told her, leaning his head against the door, and knocking a few times. Everything was going fine, they were all smiling enjoying themselves when Sylvia just had to pop the question of 'when are you going to get married?' or 'I need some grandchildren', 'you need to find a man, and a job'. And of course they just had the library incident, and that's all that Donna needed to snap. Donna ran all the way upstairs and she was gone.
The Doctor tried once more; "At least let me in.." he said. He heard the lock on her door click and then the door slowly swept open. Donna was still in her green sweater, which made her red hair stand out even more. Her eyes and nose were red from crying and a few more tears were still stained on her face.
"I'm not going down there." Donna managed to say, even though her voice was weak from crying and yelling. She held one hand on the door handle, just in case anyone else came up, and her other arm was wrapped around her side, keeping her in comfort from cracking again.
"I won't make you," The Doctor said gently. "May I come in?" He asked and stood patiently. Donna moved the door open more and went back inside her room, the Doctor followed. His eyes followed her as she sat down on the semi-large bed in the middle of the room. The Doctor looked around he had never been in Donna's room, not even in the TARDIS one, she liked to keep her privacy away from the Doctor. The walls of her room were a faint purple, she had two medium windows on the far wall, and on the wall across from her bed was a small television. He moved over to were Donna was sitting and sat down beside her, he could feel her leg pressed against his, warming his body. "She didn't know," he said, looking over at her, she kept her head down so the Doctor couldn't see her beautiful face.
"I know," Donna said staring down at the small piece of paper that was on the floor. It was a ripped off piece from a pamphlet for the Adipose, it brought back memories; she smiled a little to herself. "I'm glad I met you, for the second time that is." Donna said without thinking. "Despite all the horrible things we've seen, it's worth it."
"Nah, I'd say I'm the lucky one, all that brilliance, and bravery, I'd be lost without you," The Doctor told her truthfully. He nudged her a bit playfully, trying to make her laugh; he succeeded when he heard a bit of laughter coming from the ginger beside him. "How about we go down, huh? I'll promise to protect you if your mother tries to snap at you again,"
"Yeah, sounds fun."
