A/N First Frozen fanfic, yay! This is a strange little oneshot about how Hans ended up being sent to Elsa's coronation and not one of his numerous older brothers. If you're interested, I don't normally write like this and I prefer angst to humour, but this idea just wouldn't leave me alone. T for swearing, only by one character. Sorry about the bad title. Please review.

Disclaimer: Nope. Not mine. I wish it was, but it isn't.

A Coronation Invite

Dear King Erik of the Southern Isles,

I write to invite you and your family to my coronation ceremony in Arendelle in the castle chapel on the 2nd of August which will begin at approximately eleven o'clock. I would be delighted to welcome you to our kindom for the coronation and the celebratory ball. I look forward to seeing you there,

Princess Elsa of Arendelle.

The King of the Southern Isles groaned. He had just read a letter, marked with the crest of Arendelle.

"Does anybody want to go to this? It's another coronation." he shouted to his brothers, four of which were sat in a ring in the corner of the study.

"God no!" replied Kaj, the third eldest. "Those cereomies are dreadful. All they are is some ancient priest droning on in the old language that no one understands followed by an awful ball."

"Yeah, I'll pass mate," said Aarne, far enough down the line of heirs to not really have much of a choice if his eldest brother asked him to go.

"I'm good too," muttered Niklos.

"Well someone's got to go! We can't be rude, we need to keep up our alliances." snapped Erik. "Go and get the others."

Five minutes later, all fourteen siblings were gathered in Erik's study, arguing about who should go.

"I'm not fucking going! I've been to three already. They're shit!" shouted Knute.

"Okay, Knute, you're not going. Leif, what about you?" Erik said diplomatically. "It would be best if we could send someone from higher up the inheritance order.

"Please don't send me," Leif begged.

"Erik, why don't you go?" shouted Moguns wrinkling his face accusingly.

Erik was silent for a moment. He couldn't think of an excuse, so instead spoke his mind.

"You want to know why I'm not going? Beacause it's a coronation and I can't afford to be out of the kingdom for a whole week for such a trivial reason! But someone does have to go. Does anyone want to go? Anyone? Please,"

There was a long silence. Eventually, the youngest, Hans, stepped forward.

"Hans, really? Does anyone else want to go?" Erik continued, his usually easygoing smile dropping into a slight frown. Hans was the youngest, and it would take a lot for him to end up on the throne. There wasn't much point even including him on the line of potential heirs.

"Arendelle? Is that the one with only the two princesses?" Hans started.

Frodei replied, as he by far had the best diplomatic knowledge. "Yes, Elsa, the oldest, is the frigid princess who's had the gates locked ever since she was like six. No one's even seen her since her parents died. She didn't even go to their funeral."

"Ooh, that's cold. What about the other one?" Hans gasped.

"Princess Anna, well, she seems good enough and whatever. She goes to all the right events but we still don't really know anything about her." Frodei continued.

Hans wrinkled his nose in thought. There was a pause, before he spoke again.

"Okay, I'll go."

"Really?" Erik began. "Does someone want to accompany him?"

There was a resounding chorus of 'no', and Erik finally gave up.

"Okay, Hans is going. We have two weeks. It takes three days to get there, so we need to get a move on. Get the tailor, Hans is going to need a new suit."

A/N Sorry about the first bit, but I wasn't sure how to start it and it seems like those letters would be a little awkward anyway. Hope you liked it. Once again, please review.
