How long did I wait
To have you in my arms?
Only to hold you tight
For so short a moment…
Only to have you leave this world.
But I never knew
That so painful a occasion
Could be held so dear
To my heart and my mind
And mean so much joy for me.
Though tears did fall
My emotions were mixed
For you see…
Pain and joy spilt out in each tear.
To see the scar that had
Meant such pain and guilt for you
Had finally disappeared
And your life had been fulfilled.
Finally it was over
Finally you could rest.
This is one reason I asked
To share with you your pain
For I knew that it would reunite us
Some day in paradise
In those Heavens above.
My beloved husband
It will not be long until I join you
We will be together soon
